Skylar Peterson, also know as Sky, disappeared on August 30th of 2015. He was reportedly on his way to Wild Animal Park via Uber but is described as having terminated his ride just prior to reaching his intended destination.
Question: Who or what caused Skylar Peterson’s disappearance?

I don’t have a clue about why I pulled an extra card for the Four of Swords reversed. It happened without me giving any thought to it so I’m just going to include it. Like I always try to point out, this is just a tarot reading. Nothing I say or write is a substitute for evidence and facts. With that said, this reading is an odd one. You will see what I mean soon enough.
So there are multiple people involved in Sky’s disappearance. It’s a group of people – with four that are standing out as major players. The cards are showing me people that are sketchy and have ulterior motives for whatever it is that they do – whatever it is they did to cause Skylar’s disappearance.
The Four of Swords reversed is showing Sky as having been in a mindset where he was recovering from some stress. He was in a mode where he was finding mental and emotional strength. I can’t really tell what was going on prior to this, but he might have recently experienced a period of burnout. The Star reversed is the card I pulled for this one – and I’m including it because I always kind of view “accidents” as intentional messages when it comes to the cards. The Star reversed is showing a situation where Sky might have been feeling a lack of inspiration, faith, or motivation. It feels to me like the cards are explaining how and why he was vulnerable with regard to the people I am going to talk about in a moment. It is important to understand why people trust those they shouldn’t, and what kind of mindset contributes to a person taking chances or risks they might ordinarily avoid.
The Knight of Swords reversed is the first person the reading is presenting to me. The Eight of Wands reversed is its companion card. When representing a person, the reversed positioning of this particular Knight card shows a person who has trouble communicating effectively, can behave as a bully or in an aggressive manner, and in many cases has been involved in criminal activity (not always, but often enough that it is worth mentioning here). The Eight of Wands reversed usually means a period of stagnation or the termination of plans – or a delay. It can also depict someone who loses control over their situation or and behaves impulsively.
The Knights often represent younger adult males, though there are always exceptions. The reading is presenting a second person who is coming across as having younger male energy. The card is the Knight of Pentacles reversed. The Ace of Pentacles reversed was pulled in connection with this card. This is a person who is more focused on monetary or material matters. Their motives often revolve around financial or material matters – for better or worse. The Ace of Pentacles reversed is further supporting this aspect of the person’s personality and is showing them acting out of greed or because they were having some kind of financial difficulty.
The Queen of Cups reversed is a third person the reading is presenting. The card usually depicts a mature adult female energy (maturity does not always refer to age) who is easily hurt and often behaves in a way that is self-centered. Such a person can act out of spite or insecurity. Though the Queen cards usually refer to people with more mature thought processes, the one exception here is that this person would likely come across as emotionally immature for their age. The Fool, pulled in connection with this card, almost seems to show the person as viewing their circumstances as a new adventure. Or they were looking for adventure and/or freedom in general. It’s almost like they went into a situation with positive or good intentions but were a little naïve and overly trusting about it.
The King of Wands is a male energy that comes across as someone who is an adult. This is someone who comes across as witty, friendly, energetic, charming, funny, etc. However, it is also someone who is hot tempered and can make impulsive or reckless choices. The Tower was the card pulled in connection with the King card and it is a concerning one in this context because it depicts a sudden upheaval, trauma, or change. In these kinds of readings, it can at times indicate a type of sneak attack – where everything happens quickly and is not expected on the person or people directly impacted.
The Six of Swords is a calm after the storm type of card. It can indicate travel and movement. If it pertains to Sky then it could indicate he was moved from one location to another, possibly by water, either willingly or unwillingly. I am not clear about his fate at this time, and it depends a great deal on what the Tower represents in this reading. So there was some kind of major occurrence, event, or upheaval that was followed by a period of calm. I’m getting that these people left the area, and because the card appeared independently (not tied to a court card) then Sky likely went with them (but I don’t know what his condition would have been in terms of living or being in good health). It could also indicate that this group of people moved – or still move – around.
The Three of Pentacles reversed is a card I often get with failed or poor collaborations. There were multiple people involved in all of this and they were working together. However, there are several cards pointing toward a lack of planning – or poor planning – so I would say there were a lot of mistakes made here. Whatever these people did is not impossible to uncover.
Strength reversed is again showing Sky in this position of vulnerability. It can also depict a person’s will being overcome and a sense of helplessness or doubt on the part of the person this card presents for. So it is almost as though whatever happened here was viewed as something positive in the beginning, but there came a time when Sky saw that he was in too deep in something that he did not feel equipped to handle.
The Four of Wands is the first hopeful card to appear because it is one that can represent a celebration, party, or reunion. I don’t know if this is saying that Sky is alive somewhere and will eventually return, or if it is pointing toward a resolution with regard to the circumstances. I cannot discount the possibility that Sky is somewhere out there, alive. This aspect is definitely not clear to me based on this reading though. Maybe it is a reference to this group of people and some kind of celebration they had or will have. It is really hard to say.
Question: What circumstances caused Sky’s disappearance?
5 of Wands – 2 of Pentacles – 3 of Cups
6 of Wands – 9 of Wands (reversed) – 2 of Swords (reversed)
4 of Cups (reversed) – Judgement (reversed) – Temperance
The Five of Wands shows a group of people with differing agendas or goals. It suggests that there was some conflict with regard to this. I think that Sky had his own goals and ideas about what he wanted to do or accomplish, but they did not necessarily align with everyone else’s.
The Two of Pentacles comes up when a person is seeking balance and trying to juggle multiple responsibilities or obligations. So I see Sky in this position where he felt overwhelmed, and he was trying to balance all of these different elements of his life. This might explain the first card in the initial reading that was showing him as possibly recovering from a period of burnout.
The Three of Cups is a card that is associated with socializing, gatherings of people, and happy times. It could mean that whoever the people are in the first reading, Sky was possibly enjoying their company initially. I saw initially because the Tower and some of the subsequent cards show a situation that turned very quickly.
The Six of Wands is a card associated with a desire for praise and recognition. It can even refer to someone receiving all of those things. If it relates to Sky’s encounter/s with the people mentioned in the first reading, then I think they probably got him to trust them by using praise and words of encouragement that would have resonated with his desire to feel valued and to please. He is coming across as a people-pleaser and someone that is inclined to put his own needs aside immediately to help others around him.
The Nine of Wands reversed is likely the card depicting the turn of events mentioned in the first reading. It is showing someone that refuses to compromise and will not back down on something. It can also depict a person who gets to the point where they don’t have the energy to push back against their circumstances.
The Two of Swords reversed is telling me two things. First, the truth about the people Sky was dealing with became known to him. He saw them, and the situation, for what it truly was. Lies were exposed. The second thing it suggests is the possibility/likelihood that lies will continue to be revealed with regard to these people that are somehow involved in all of this.
The last row of the reading is a little hard to decipher because it could have a range of meanings. The Four of Cups reversed usually represents a person that has regained their motivation or drive. It can be the end of a period of stagnation and the release of regrets.
Judgement reversed is a situation where people do not, and have not, learned from their past mistakes. It shows a lack of self-awareness and the tendency some people have to blame their faults on other people. I’m not reading this as representing Sky, though that is possible. It comes across to me more as an indication that whatever happened here is something that these people do and probably have done in the past. There is a pattern of behavior here, though I don’t really understand what that is or why.
Temperance is a card of patience and balance. It is usually a positive card, but I don’t know what it means in this particular reading. It’s a card that sometimes advises people to embrace the concept of moderation and consider the middle path with regard to decisive action.
So in conclusion, there were multiple people involved in whatever happened. Multiple people know what happened. I don’t really know how to express the impression I’m getting here. It feels a little cult-like. I’m not saying a cult is involved, but something that comes across here is this sense of a group of people existing and/or traveling together. Both readings had a celebration card, of sorts, and Judgement reversed shows a pattern of behavior. Is there some kind of initiation ceremony or something along those lines that they might do – together and as a group. Maybe something happened to Sky during such an event. I don’t know. This whole thing is baffling on so many levels.
I will say this. If Sky is alive then I would say it is highly likely he is with this group of people. Nothing in these readings suggests he is out there on his own and so if he is alive, I would say that the key to finding him is figuring out who the people the first reading was referencing.
