Question: Who or what caused Elaine’s disappearance?

Row 2
3 of Swords – 9 of Wands – Ace of Pentacles (r)

Row 3
Chariot (r) – 5 of Swords (r) – 2 of Pentacles

I said a while back that I would do more readings about Elaine and so here I am now, fulfilling that promise.

In response to the question concerning who or what caused Elaine’s disappearance, the first card that came up was the Queen of Pentacles. The Wheel reversed was the card pulled in relation to that one. The Queen card could represent an adult female (or someone with that energy) who focuses on material and/or money matters. In the upright position, this card usually has positive attributes. However, paired with the Wheel reversed, it looks like something major happened or changed in this person’s life that contributed to all of the events that unfolded surrounding Elaine’s disappearance. It was probably something out of this person’s control and was likely viewed as something negative – whether it was or wasn’t, in reality.

Strength reversed and the Star reversed can point to a situation where someone feels overcome by their circumstances. Whatever the change in fortune represented, it made this person feel weak and concerned about the security of their future (their goals, hopes, dreams, etc.). There’s another side to the Star reversed that is worth considering. It can represent a significant loss, abandonment, or theft. So this person may have felt like something, or someone, that was rightfully theirs was taken from them.

The Three of Swords, Nine of Wands, and Ace of Pentacles reversed are showing some interesting dynamics at play. The first is that there is this sense of heartbreak and betrayal associated with the Three of Swords. The Nine of Wands can be a last stand type of card, where someone feels exhausted and drained from ongoing conflict. The Ace of Pentacles reversed might show this person as experiencing a financial or material setback. It can also indicate a sense of greed or extreme worry about financial matters.

The Chariot reversed can show a person who feels like circumstances are outside of their control. Sometimes this leads to aggression or forcefulness. The Five of Swords reversed throws in that idea of doing something – or making a decision – that allows a person to move on with their life or overcome whatever conflict they are experiencing. The Two of Cards is a card that comes up when someone is seeking out stability and balance – usually pertaining to financial or material matters.

Question: What circumstances caused Elaine’s disappearance?

Wheel (r) – Ace of Wands (r) – Page of Cups
Card pulled for Page of Cups: King of Wands (r)
Card pulled for King of Wands (r): High Priestess

Row 2
Hermit (r) – 8 of Pentacles – The Sun (r)

Row 3
Page of Pentacles – 6 of Cups – 6 of Pentacles (r)
Card pulled for the Page of Pentacles: 10 of Swords (r)

The Wheel reversed came up again – this time in response to the question about the circumstances that led to Elaine’s disappearance. There might have been something that happened – or came up – that changed Elaine’s luck and her fate. She probably wasn’t prepared for it, as indicated by the Ace of Wands reversed. I’m not saying this is the case but sometimes it indicates a pregnancy. In the reversed position, it could be an unplanned pregnancy, issues with a pregnancy, etc.

And the Page of Cups, King of Wands reversed, and the High Priestess are really interesting to me. First, the Page of Cups indicates there might have been some news about something, or a proposal of some kind (likely a romantic one). It’s another card that could point to the possibility of a pregnancy. The King of Wands reversed, pulled in connection with the Page, is someone with adult male energy. In the reversed position, this could have been someone who was behaving in a way that was abusive or forceful. Not necessarily physically, but those are the kinds of attributes you might see with a person represented by that particular card at a given point in time. It’s also someone action-oriented and quick to lose their temper.

The High Priestess is a card I have seen come up sometimes in relation to pregnancy. It’s also a card that is suggestive of mystery and information pertaining to this situation that is unknown. I don’t know if it is referring to information that is still unknown, about these circumstances, or information that was unknown in relation to the person represented by the King card. That part is not clear to me. My feeling is that this person withholds information and that they have a piece of this puzzle that would bring together a much clearer picture about what happened.

I don’t know if the above news or situation triggered this, but the Hermit reversed usually represents someone who feels like an outsider or who has chosen to withdraw from other people for some reason. The Eight of Pentacles can be a person who is focusing or refocusing their attention to money matters or to those related to a career. It can represent someone that is trying to learn a particular trade or set of skills and has chosen to follow a path that allows them to do that. But the Sun reversed implies that they weren’t yet able or ready to really put in the work. Maybe they had unrealistic expectations or felt they should have achieved more than they already had.

The Page of Pentacles might represent good news regarding something material or financial in nature, or it can show a person who is trying to lay a foundation to become successful in the future. If it refers to Elaine, it is showing her as someone who had the ability to work slowly and steadfastly toward achieving her goals. She wouldn’t have been the kind of person to give up on a pursuit very easily. The Ten of Swords reversed is showing that she was probably trying to rise about issues or problems she was experiencing. It’s often a card about survival and an unwillingness to just lay down and die, so to speak.

The Six of Cups might mean that Elaine was trying to get back to better times in her life or get to a point where she felt happier. There’s a sense of nostalgia with this card – especially in the upright position, but the downside is that it can also be indicative of someone who is stuck in the past or overly focused on something that happened in the past.

Finally, the Six of Pentacles reversed shows a dynamic between Elaine and someone else that was not equal. It looks like she was giving a person – or people – more than they were returning. Elaine might not have been focusing on herself and her own needs as much as she needed. Someone might have been taking advantage of this too. There are situations where this card indicates gifts, money, or attention received – but with strings attached. There is no sense of equality inherent in this card.

The appearance of cups shows me that there was an emotional component to these circumstances that make me think that what happened to her wasn’t random. That said, sometimes the readings bring attention to matters that were happening at the time that may influence people to put too much emphasis on certain details. The abundance of pentacles could hint toward financial or material motives that drove these circumstances, or at least set in motion the events that caused it all.

Question: What do we need to know about Elaine’s disappearance?

Halloween Oracle: The Witch, Ancestors, Nightsong

Question: What do we need to know about the person/people involved in Elaine’s disappearance?

Oracle of Shadows and Light: Eclipse Mermaid, Sea Storm, Storm Angel

The Witch is a card that marks a catalyst for change. It can also represent a situation where a person is experiencing or seeking changes in their life that might not be looked upon, by every person in their life, as positive. That doesn’t mean the changes aren’t positive; it just means that there is a suggestion here that it is possible someone did not like them. So in this case, it is important to consider what kinds of changes were happening in Elaine’s life at the time of her disappearance and how they impacted those around her – specifically. The devil does truly seem to lie in the details with Elaine’s entire situation. And I really think there are some important details that most people don’t know yet.

The Ancestors card, appearing in this reading, points to past and present familial ties. It also points to how our ancestors have shaped us and how, despite what we see as imperfections, we are the way we are for a reason: the achieve a particular purpose.

The Nightsong can be a warning card in that it suggests not to continue on a current path unless it is directed at unearthing skills, talents, or abilities that a person possesses.

The three cards are showing that there was a lot of change happening in Elaine’s life. Not everyone seemed happy about it.

We don’t know for certain whether Elaine disappeared on her own accord or if one or more other people caused her disappearance. For this reason, the next three cards can be read a couple of different ways.

The Eclipse Mermaid points to a major shift in a person’s life. It also suggests the changes that occurred in the person’s life (the question is directed at whoever was responsible for Elaine’s disappearance) were not invited, nor were they necessarily even wanted. All of the readings really seem to want to stress this shift of circumstances in her life.

The Sea Storm card has a lot of similarities with the Tower in that it marks major, and sometimes quite destructive, change. Whoever was involved was experiencing a lot of emotional drama in their life/lives.

The Storm Angel can represent conflict that occurs because of different views, perceptions, or goals. The person (or people) felt they were going up against something or someone that was completely different from who they were as a person, or who they wanted to be. Or two people wanted completely different things and that was causing conflict.

The cards, as a whole (when considering all of the card pulls done today), do seem to lean more in favor of Elaine having difficulties with a person – or people – that she knew. Those difficulties appear to have acted as the catalyst for her disappearance, regardless of whether met with foul play or something else happened.

I pulled two more oracle cards from the oracle decks, to try to clarify the issue of whether Elaine disappeared on her own or someone else caused it. I asked: Did Elaine intentionally cause herself to disappear?

I pulled Apple from the Halloween deck and Autumn is My Last Chance from Shadows and Light. The first thing I noticed is that there is an apple in both of the images. I am getting the strongest impression that this pertains to an iPhone or some Apple technology. That isn’t the meaning that the cards are officially assigned, but it is just a strong impression that came into my mind when I saw these cards.

The symbolism for an apple in general seems varied. I did find some references to it referencing fertility, but there appear to be a lot of meanings. I just think it’s interesting that it showed up in two cards from two completely different decks. Perhaps it means something specific to someone who knows Elaine well. Hard to say for sure.

Apple is a card with meaning that can point to someone who has taken too many risks or took a risk that did not serve them well. Autumn is My Last Chance is a card that warns against relying too much on other people for comfort, help, or support. It can show a person who is going through a hard time, but still has hope that things will get better. The apple is meant to represent that hope as the image shows someone who is sad, and perhaps somewhat lost, but knows they still have this one thing that can nourish and help them when they need it. Another aspect of this card is that it can show a person who is in the process of turning to their own resources to take control of their life.

I’m leaving these open to interpretation as to what they say about who caused Elaine’s disappearance. I asked the Halloween oracle what Elaine’s current status was and I got Zombie.

Shannan Gilbert

Disappearance: May 1, 2010
Location: Oak Beach, New York

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Shannon Gilbert was 24-years-old when she reportedly met up with a man in Oak Beach. She was a sex worker and had gone to meet with a client. While at the man’s house, she called the police and told them that someone was trying to kill her. She eventually ran from the house and disappeared, only to be found deceased in a marsh. She was found in fairly close proximity to the remains of many other women who worked in the same profession.

Question: What happened to cause Shannan’s death?

Row 1
Strength (r) – 2 of Wands (r) – Queen of Wands (r)
Card pulled for Queen of Wands (r): 10 of Swords

Row 2
King of Cups (r) – Judgement (r) – 5 of Wands (r)
Card pulled for King of Cups (r): The Moon

Row 3
8 of Wands (r) – 6 of Pentacles – 4 of Wands

Before I got done shuffling, I had the King of Swords reversed pop out on me so I’m going to include it in this reading. This could represent a masculine, mature (adult) type of energy. One of the reasons this card is significant is because it can represent people who work in particular fields – such as lawyers, law enforcement, military, etc. In the reversed position, this would be someone abusing their authority though. A lot of times, people represented by this card are outspoken. They can be articulate, but they use their words to manipulate situations, people, and facts.

That card aside, straight away in the reading we have Strength reversed. This shows Shannan as having been in a vulnerable situation where she felt uncertain and lacked confidence. There is a sense of weakness associated with this card on emotional, physical, and/or mental levels.

The Two of Wands reversed can indicate a lack of planning and a general fear of the unknown. Shannan may have gone into something thinking she was playing it safe and avoiding risk, but the card indicates there were possibly obstacles or issues that she just was not quite picking up on right away.

The Queen of Wands reversed tends to be a card with feminine and adult female energy. I think this card might represent Shannan because when it is combined with the Ten of Swords, it is showing someone who has hit their bottom. The worst has happened to them, is what this card is basically saying. If that’s true, and it does represent Shannan around the time of her death, then it’s showing that she was not in a great place mentally or emotionally. There would have been things going on in her life, and with her, that made her especially vulnerable to a person or people inclined to take advantage. The only real alternative here is that this card represents someone else entirely and they are a direct contributor to the worst happening. It’s like an ending of sorts occurred, and it was not pleasant emotionally and/or physically. It may or may not directly represent her death.

The King of Cups reversed can be someone who comes across as sympathetic and a friend, but that is typically a façade when the card is reversed. It is likely representative of someone who is overly sensitive, emotional, or behaves in a way that is immature considering their age. The Moon, combined with this card, is telling me there was a lot of deception involved in what happened to Shannan. This person probably deceived her and may have somehow lured her to her death. The card can sometimes point to hidden danger or people with bad intentions that are adept at hiding it.

Judgement reversed can have a lot of meanings. My first sense of this card, in the context of this reading, is that it’s showing a situation where someone repeatedly makes poor decisions and continues cycles that are destructive. I also feel like there is this component of being the target of malicious words or gossip. Maybe someone targeted her because they were making judgements about her as a person and her choices. The card indicates an outcome outside of Shannan’s control.

Five of Wands reversed can represent the end or resolution of something. I’ve talked about this card before in terms of it either representing a peaceful end to a conflict or a violent one. Someone perceived there was a conflict or problem, and then it was solved. Whatever that means or entails.

The Eight of Wands reversed is basically showing me that events did not align in Shannan’s favor. She would have felt like everything was working against her and her situation was out of her control. It can represent someone who feels a strong sense of fear or panic. There’s also this feeling of bad timing or being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Six of Pentacles is showing someone in a better position financially and/or materially and offering something to her that probably would have felt generous – something big enough to motivate her to get involved in whatever it was that got her into the situation she ended up in.

Normally, the Four of Wands is a positive card. This reading is far from that and so it more than likely communicates a sense of teamwork or working together. My impression is that there were people and/or forces that all came together to make this happen. She was presented with a situation that looked like it was beneficial, surrounding by at least one person who pretended to be something they weren’t, and something terrible happened.

Question: Who or what caused Shannan’s death?

Row 1
3 of Wands – 6 of Swords – 9 of Wands (r)

Row 2
King of Cups (r) – 8 of Wands – Queen of Wands (r)
Card pulled for King of Cups (r): Empress
Card pulled for King of Wands (r): 9 of Pentacles

Row 3
5 of Wands – Queen of Pentacles (r) – Emperor (r)
Card pulled for Queen of Pentacles (r): 3 of Swords (r)

It definitely seems there was more than one person involved in all this. I got the King of Cups reversed and the Queen of Wands reversed again. I got them in the first reading. Now I am not so sure that the Queen of Wands reversed represented Shannan. I think there might be a woman involved in this – possibly someone who helped lure her or convince her the situation was safe – or someone who has the energy of a female. There is a lot of female energy in this reading, and I can’t shake this impression that there is a woman directly linked to all of this. I’ll get into that all more though as I go through the cards.

The Three of Wands is showing me someone who probably did – or does – travel. This is probably someone who feels good about the choices they have made and has experienced success. They felt – or feel – like they worked hard, and it has paid off.

The Six of Swords is suggesting to me that this person feels like they have moved beyond whatever happened with Shannan and those surrounding circumstances. There is a kind of calm-after-the-storm sense to this card and so maybe they came under suspicion at one time, or felt they had some heat on them, but they have moved on from that.

The Nine of Wands reversed is a person that is stubborn and does not learn from past mistakes or situations. They might be prone to paranoia or feeling overwhelmed by situations or problems. There are multiple cards in these readings that suggest there is a lack of learning from the past, but I can’t tell if this is the card’s way of saying that what happened with Shannan is a part of someone’s repetitive mistake cycle or what.

This person comes across – or did – as someone with good intentions. People perceive that this person is safe and friendly. They aren’t. The Empress likely represents a female that was – or still is – involved with this person. I am not getting the sense that this is someone that merely has some suspicions about this person; instead, it feels like they are a direct force in all of this. And the Empress would come across positively as well. Like I always say, it’s just a tarot reading, and it could be completely off. However, if this is even remotely accurate then we are probably looking at two primary players in this and one of them is likely a woman.

What I don’t like about this reading is that cards like the Three of Wands and the Eight of Wands make it seem like the person – or people – have been living a good or decent life in terms of being enjoyable for them. The person or people might feel like the universe supports their endeavors. I don’t know how else to explain that part, but in both readings, there is this impression that there is a feeling of being justified – almost like someone is doing something beneficial. I can’t explain that. I can only say I am compelled to share that.

The Queen of Wands reversed came up before. This time the card appeared with the 9 of Pentacles which is a card that depicts someone successful and probably mature in age (not a teenager or young adult). I think this probably represents the female. It can be someone who has achieved financial and material independence – either on their own or through marriage. They may even come across as elegant to people. Ironically, the Nine of Pentacles reversed can come up when there is prostitution associated with a situation. But in this reading, it is upright.

The Five of Wands shows a lot of conflict and disagreements. There can be a competitive side to this card also. I don’t know if it is denoting what is going on in the person or people’s life or if it is just showing them as being someone that causes conflict. Someone that likes to argue and get their way. Someone who does not shy away from a problem or a fight. Perhaps, right now, they are experiencing significant problems or disruption. I’m not really sure with this one.

The Queen of Pentacles reversed could be someone already mentioned, or it could be another person with knowledge or involvement in what happened to Shannan. Sometimes this card is linked to prostitution. It can be connected to people that are social climbers and use people for material or financial ends.

The Emperor reversed is someone who is – or was – likely in a respectable kind of position or profession. However, it is someone who would have used whatever power and respect they had in harmful ways. Such a person is usually controlling. They can be rigid in their thinking and behavior. Other people may view them as a leader or as someone with notable accomplishments. It can indicate significant corruption as well – either personal or systemic.

There is definitely a sense of something bigger going on with all of this and I think there is at least one person who has been directly involved that might come as a surprise to people. I don’t think that what happened to Shannan was an accident. Based entirely on the readings, I think more than one person is involved – but I’m not sure of their exact role. The person that came up in the first reading – with the King of Swords reversed – is probably out there spreading false information and talking about the case. I just see this person being active in discussions (possibly even online) about the case and intent on shifting blame or victim-shaming even.

There’s a lot of information that we don’t have here – that is available in some way (I don’t know how but I do think it’s out there) – that would shed a lot more light on this if we had it.

Suzanne Morphew

Disappearance: 05/10/2022
Location: Chaffee County, Colorado

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Suzanne Morphew is said to have gone out to ride her bike on May 10th of 2020 – on Mother’s Day. She has reportedly not been seen since.

Question: What happened to cause Suzanne to disappear?

Row 1
Star (r) – Knight of Pentacles – The Fool
Card pulled for Knight of Pentacles: Death (r)

Row 2
Strength (r) – Justice – 5 of Pentacles

Row 3
Temperance (r) – 2 of Wands (r) – 7 of Pentacles (r)

When Suzanne disappeared, the Star reversed is showing that she wasn’t going through a great time in her life. She might have been feeling a sense of hopelessness, despair, and a lack of faith that everything would work out the way it should.

The Knight of Pentacles is a younger and more masculine type of energy (doesn’t mean it has to be a young adult or a male; that’s just the energy it projects) that is focused on the practical things in life. There’s an air of being stubborn and working slowly toward a goal. I’m not sure if this was a person in Suzanne’s life – or someone she came in contact with – or if it’s more of an energy surrounding what was going on with her. Death reversed, pulled in connection with the Knight card, could indicate a change that was forced upon someone – or an anticipated one that someone didn’t really want. It’s usually something major, such as the death of someone close or a divorce.

The Fool makes me think there was some kind of plan in place, or serious thoughts of a plan, for travel or something along those lines. I don’t know if Suzanne was planning to take a trip or embark on something new, but I’m really leaning toward some kind of travel here because the Two of Wands reversed – a card coming up – is showing the possibility of canceled plans or just poor planning in general. The Fool would be a lack of concrete planning or perhaps just not thinking everything through ahead of time. It could also be an attempt to put this all together without the benefit of having time to really plan for it.

Strength reversed is another card that makes me think that Suzanne was going through something significant and emotionally difficult. It’s another card that can indicate depression, self-esteem issues, and overall insecurity. It is also something people might get when they know they need to make a big change, but they have a lot of fear about it. Or resistance to it as Death reversed could suggest as well.

The Justice card makes me also think that maybe there was something going on with Suzanne that was coming down on her in terms of accountability – or cause-and-effect. Everyone’s actions have consequences. The card could also point to some kind of legal issue or dispute – or one that was anticipated if Suzanne were to make the changes that the other cards are suggesting she felt she needed to make, but that she also feared. It’s a major force in all of this. One of many triggers, perhaps.

The Five of Pentacles is another card suggesting some financial or material difficulty that might have been occurring or looming in the near future. It can come up when a person does not feel they have the support they need or feel left out in the cold, so to speak. I have seen it come up in situations where there is a divorce or a breakup of a relationship. We have multiple cards pointing this way and so that could be the source of her depression, as well as the indication of some kind of possible legal situation.

Temperance reversed is a card showing imbalance and conflict. Whatever was going on kind of reached a boiling point. There was a rapidly escalating situation.

The Two of Wands reversed can be equated to not taking action or canceling plans. If Suzanne was seriously considering doing something in particular – travel-related or otherwise – there was a sudden cancelation of these plans. I don’t know if it was because something happened to her or if something threw a wrench into whatever it was that she was hoping to do, but something went wrong there.

The Seven of Pentacles reversed is one of those cards that comes up when someone doesn’t finish a project they started or doesn’t follow through with something – either because they choose not to or because they are stopped from doing so by something or someone else. So did someone find out what she was planning to do and react to it? I’m truly not sure. But there was a lot of conflict, despair, and uncertainty in Suzanne’s life around the time she disappeared. I would expect people close to her to have knowledge of that. It was too significant to hide, I would think.

There are enough pentacles that cropped up to make me think there were some money problems or issues connected to all this as well. Or ones that exacerbated the situation beyond what it already was.

Question: Who caused Suzanne’s disappearance?

Row 1
9 of Pentacles – Queen of Swords (r) – Knight of Cups
Card pulled for Queen of Swords (r): Queen of Wands (r)
Card pulled for Queen of Wands (r): 4 of Swords (r)
Card pulled for the Knight of Cups: Ace of Swords (r)

Row 2
6 of Swords (r) – Knight of Wands – 7 of Wands (r)
Card pulled for Knight of Wands: Page of Cups (r)
Card pulled for Page of Cups (r): High Priestess (r)

Row 3
Tower (r) – 6 of Cups (r) – The Hermit

There are a lot of influences here and while that doesn’t mean there were multiple people involved in whatever happened to Suzanne, it’s important to consider that a lot of different people have pieces of the larger puzzle that are needed to solve it.

The Nine of Pentacles is usually associated with people that are independent and have the ability to be financially independent. There’s a sense of age and maturity that often comes with this card, though not always.

There are two Queen cards in the reversed position. The Queen of Swords reversed can be someone making accusations without necessarily having all of the information, or someone who can be prone to spreading gossip. The Queen of Wands reversed is someone who might be behaving in a jealous manner or a malicious one – someone with a bad temper and someone possibly prone to acting impulsively. It can be someone acting as a bully and someone who is extremely manipulative. While the Queen of Swords reversed energy is someone who approaches their fights using words, the Queen of Wands reversed is more action-oriented. Do one of these represent Suzanne, with the other representing someone else? Or are we looking at two totally different people creating drama for Suzanne?

The Four of Swords reversed is a card that makes me think that Suzanne was trying to find a way of coping with – or resolving – the situation she was in. But I would think that she must have felt under attack in a lot of ways, and this was definitely impacting her mental state in terms of what she felt equipped to handle.

The Knight of Cups is a younger, masculine type of energy that could represent a romantic type of proposal or a person that made that kind of gesture. The Ace of Swords reversed is some kind of idea or initial plan that for whatever reason was not coming to fruition. It was one in the really early stages of planning, and possibly not really vocalized to a lot of people yet. But it can also represent a situation where a person is not seeing what is really going on because their perception is clouded or they have been led to think one thing, when really something else is happening.

The Six of Swords reversed is someone seeing that trouble is coming and trying to delay the inevitable. It probably pertains to whoever is responsible for Suzanne’s disappearance because the main question pertains to them. But it can also be a card showing someone as feeling trapped by someone and as though they have nowhere left to run, as well as a cancelation of travel plans. It’s like if someone were confronted and cornered, is how it comes across. Literally trapped is what I keep getting.

See, I really think Suzanne had some kind of plan to leave somewhere or go on a trip or something, and someone put a stop to those plans. It feels like more than just her planning to end a relationship too. There are a lot of cards indicating travel that is either canceled or does not occur for whatever reason.

The Knight of Wands was probably someone in her life, or that she came in contact with, that she viewed positively, who was adventurous and could be romantic. It’s also someone who could be impulsive and maybe a bit of a flirt with more than one person. So I think maybe Suzanne felt swept off her feet by someone like this. But then the Page of Cups reversed is showing her as possibly receiving some kind of bad news from or about or in connection with this person. Another thing that I don’t love about this card is the hint at a situation where someone might have behaved vindictively or in a way that was exploitative in reference to this person. So is this a matter of someone different reacting to whatever was happening with this Knight person? Or is this trying to say the Knight person is someone else to consider? It can get confusing when there is so much going on in a person’s life when they disappear, or when something happens to them.

The High Priestess reversed is suggesting there were secrets involving this Knight person. There was also a sense of nostalgia. I’m not sure what that means exactly, but there is someone here that was involved in Suzanne in a way that wouldn’t have been as obvious to everyone as a known boyfriend or husband. Maybe infidelity or a secret relationship of sorts. There is this sense of secrets and betrayal from multiple sides? Or at least, that feels like it was the perception on the part of more than one person. Sometimes the High Priestess reversed is an obvious or a hidden enemy as well. Perhaps someone trusted with secrets who shouldn’t have been.

The Tower reversed is one of those cards where there is a resistance to change, but also this sense of impending doom. It’s like waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe the person responsible is kind of surprised they haven’t been caught or thought they would go down for this early on, and then didn’t. Maybe they were already considered a person of interest with the police, but police didn’t pursue it further. It is basically a situation that was a near disaster for this person. They almost got caught and they are concerned they might still.

The Six of Cups reversed is a weird one to come up. It’s someone who is stuck in the past. It’s usually the distant past. Someone that gets stuck on things that happened in their much earlier past. It can also be someone who is trying to rid themselves of the past or let go of it. This almost certainly pertains to whoever is responsible for Suzanne’s disappearance, but I don’t really know how this one fits in here exactly. Is it saying that Suzanne goes way back with this person? Or is it something else altogether?

The Hermit shows this person as kind of going off and doing their own thing. In a way they are probably reflecting on everything and contemplating it all. There is a sense of isolation and the seeking of solitude to process everything. They’ve disconnected from people – even though those around them might not realize it fully.

I wish I could say that I think Suzanne is okay, but if I were just to go by these readings then I would say I highly doubt that. But these are just tarot readings and as always, I hope I’m wrong in this interpretation. Time will tell on this one though.

And that’s the thing that I want to stress here… I do think time will reveal what really happened.

Disappearance: May 11, 2011
Location: Aurora, Illinois

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Timmothy Pitzen was six-years-old when he was last seen on May 11th of 2011. His mother, Amy Fry-Pitzen, is said to have taken him on a trip for three days to various water and amusement parks. She was found deceased in a motel room in Rockford, Illinois, and the cause of death was ruled as a suicide. She did not indicate where Timmothy was or what happened to him, except to say that he was safe and in someone’s care.

Question: What circumstances caused Timmothy’s disappearance?

Row 1
The Fool – 7 of Wands – The Hermit (r)

Row 2
Queen of Pentacles – Strength – Knight of Swords
Card pulled for the Queen of Pentacles: 9 of Swords
Card pulled for the Knight of Swords: 6 of Wands

Row 3
8 of Wands (r) – 2 of Swords (r) – 4 of Swords

The Fool is the first card in the reading and probably represents the trip that Timmothy and his mom took. The card suggests there was spontaneity to those circumstances and that it was not something that was well planned in advance. It could have been planned, just not with a lot of clear or advanced notice.

The Seven of Wands is showing a person who felt under attack and protective (and potentially territorial).

The Hermit reversed shows a person feeling as though they have been cast aside and are not wanted. It’s someone who feels withdrawn and rejected.

The Queen of Pentacles would normally be a positive card in that it usually represents an older feminine type of energy. It is associated with mother or motherly figures who put a lot of time and effort into their home life (and work life if they are career minded). However, the Nine of Swords came up in connection with this person and this shows me someone experiencing a deep depression or a deep sense of unhappiness, anxiety, and overall negativity. It can indicate significant mental health issues.

The Strength card seems to indicate that there was an effort to push through it all and overcome those internal feelings of self-doubt, regret, negativity, etc.

Strength is situated between the Queen and the Knight of Swords, which tells me that whoever falls into the position of the Knight was perceived as the main obstacle preventing the person in the Queen’s position from overcoming what she was going through. The Knight of Swords comes across as a younger adult energy – or younger in terms of their behavior and thought patterns – who was (or still is) good with words and opinionated. This is a person that would tell you how they are feeling about something directly and clearly.

The Six of Wands came up in connection with the Knight of Swords. This card indicates a desire for recognition, attention, praise, and/or support. It’s also a card about winning and that desire that a person might have to achieve victory or gain an advantage.

The Eight of Wands reversed can represent impulsivity and a lack of control. It also indicates bad timing – such as being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or circumstances not going in one’s favor.

The Two of Swords reversed is interesting because it suggests that there was something that came to light that would explain what triggered all of this. It’s a card about lies being exposed and the truth coming out. It’s also representative of emotional turmoil and feelings that have become overwhelming.

The Four of Swords is the card that comes up when someone has experiences complete mental and/or emotional overload and need to find relief or rest from it. In this case, it seems to point to Amy’s suicide and the culmination of emotions that appear to have led up to it.

Question: Who or what caused Timmothy’s disappearance?

Row 1
5 of Cups (r) – Judgement – 2 of Pentacles

Row 2
6 of Cups – 8 of Cups – Strength

Row 3
5 of Swords – Hanged Man – 4 of Cups (r)

This doesn’t come across as a situation where there was an outside person that got involved in the circumstances surrounding Timmothy’s disappearance. What I mean by this is that it’s reading like the mom is the who and the what here.

The Five of Cups reversed is a card about overcoming despair and letting go of sorrow.

Judgement can represent a self-evaluation of sorts and the idea of a rebirth or life changing opportunity. It can also be about transformation and starting again. It makes me wonder what Amy’s religious or spiritual beliefs were because there is this sense that she did what she did with this expectation in mind that it wasn’t the actual end. It’s possible that she believed in life after death and that the only way to get relief from the emotions and problems she was experiencing was through the process of dying. I don’t know how to explain that better, but it’s just a strong feeling I got as I read these cards.

The Two of Pentacles shows someone who experienced ups and downs – likely trying to find balance or a way to deal with the chaos they felt was surrounding them or within them.

The Six of Cups can be a card about reminiscing – for better or worse – about one’s childhood or past experiences. Sometimes it can indicate that a person was abused as a child, but not always.

The Eight of Cups is walking away from a person or situation that one feels is no longer beneficial to them. What’s odd about it is that is often comes with this dynamic of gathering strength and courage to accomplish this. So I don’t know if Amy felt torn about her plans and was trying to gather the courage to execute them, or if there is another component to this card that I’m not seeing.

Strength came up again in this reading and is about overcoming hardships. Often it pertains to feelings of doubt or disbelief in a person’s ability to persevere.

The Five of Swords is a conflict card, but it can also indicate self-sabotage and violence. It usually denotes situations where a person doesn’t feel like they can completely overcome the problem or whoever is associated with it, and so they either admit defeat or they take other action.

The Hanged Man is showing the need for release and a feeling of being confined or trapped. It’s also a card of sacrifice – usually with the belief that it is for a greater good or a higher cause/power.

The Four of Cups reversed is when a person leaves a period of stagnation. They feel they have a viable opportunity to do something, and they take it.

Neither of the readings gave me clear insight into what happened to Timmothy specifically. There are definitely a lot of cards suggesting emotional distress/mental illness on the part of the mom. Like I always say, these are just tarot readings, and I don’t have a way to know what happened for sure or what the facts are surrounding these situations. I didn’t see cards that suggested Timmothy is alive, but there weren’t any that outright showed him as deceased either. The mom might have possibly had some beliefs about the afterlife and/or reincarnation that fueled some of the decisions she made. It would be interesting to know what her religious and spiritual beliefs were regarding all that because I think it would tell people a lot about what really happened here and why.

Claudia Lawrence

Disappearance: March 19, 2009
Location: Heworth, York, England

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Claudia was last described as being seen on March 19th of 2009. She is said to have left her home to go to work and then disappeared. She was 35-years-old at the time.

Question: What circumstances caused Claudia’s disappearance?

Row 1
9 of Cups – Page of Cups – 5 of Swords
Card pulled for the Page of Cups: 7 of Wands

Row 2
2 of Pentacles (r) – Queen of Cups (r) – 6 of Swords (r)
Card pulled for the Queen of Cups (r): Ace of Wands

Row 3
The Lovers – The Devil – 8 of Swords (r)

There was a lot going on around the time that Claudia disappeared. The Nine of Cups is suggesting that she went into these circumstances (the ones that caused or contributed to her disappearing) in a good place mentally and emotionally. It’s a card that indicates satisfaction with a person’s accomplishments, happiness, and just a general sense of wellbeing.

The Page of Cups is either a young person, such as a child, or a message. In this case, it is likely a message that she received in reference to a relationship. Upright, it is usually good news and so it’s interesting that it is coming up in reference to all this as a contributing factor. Sometimes it represents a proposal, a marriage, a pregnancy, or the revelation that someone has romantic type feelings for someone.

But the odd thing is that the Seven of Wands, pulled in relation to the Page of Cups, is showing a situation where someone feels like they have to defend themselves. It is a card where someone stands firm regarding their beliefs, interests, or position on a matter. Sometimes the person who is taking this defensive stance is responding to a situation that calls for it – like an accusation or something definitive; however, there are times when a person reacts this way and there are not necessarily circumstances to warrant it. I don’t know what the case is here.

The Five of Swords is showing me conflict arising from this situation though. It is another defensive type of card, where someone feels as though they are under attack. However, given that it is the second one presenting this general theme, I feel like it is trying to drive home that the conflict was real (not imagined) and that it escalated quickly.

The Two of Pentacles reversed is showing a situation where Claudia was trying to find a balance. It can come up in times of financial distress, but it can also indicate a situation where someone is trying to juggle too many things at once – and it is just too much. Maybe a plan went awry – or perhaps the news kicked off a change in the course of her life – and she didn’t have a contingency plan in place. So maybe she also didn’t expect whatever came her way.

The Queen of Cups reversed could represent Claudia’s mindset at this particular point in time, or it could represent an entirely different person. It would be someone with energy consistent with an adult female – who is responding to things in an overly sensitive and/or emotional way and is likely depressed over their circumstances. The Ace of Wands, pulled in relation to this card, is about new beginnings and is generally positive. It can indicate plans to travel, a pregnancy, or a new business/creative idea. If it doesn’t represent Claudia, then I wonder if it represents whoever she felt on the defensive with, and someone directly involved in the conflict mentioned previously.

What’s interesting about the Queen card is that the next one – the Six of Swords reversed – is a card that can indicate canceled travel plans. It can also indicate drowning in some cases or being put in a situation where you have nowhere to go – nowhere to run.

The Lovers could represent an important decision that Claudia was faced with making or it could indicate a romantic type of relationship situation.

The Devil is troubling in this reading because it’s showing these potential issues surrounding the situation, such as addiction, obsession, infidelity, cruelty, etc. It can indicate acts of violence as well.

The Eight of Swords reversed is a card that comes up when someone is trying to achieve a sense of freedom. It can also indicate standing up to someone who is abusive. It comes up sometimes when a person has had enough of something, and they seek freedom from it.

We will see what the next reading shows, but this is reading almost like a situation where someone had a romantic interest in Claudia that was beyond what would be considered normal or healthy. Maybe she didn’t realize this at first, but if accurate, then something seems to have happened to tip her off and that’s when everything might have gotten crazy for Claudia.

Question: Who or what caused Claudia’s disappearance?

Row 1
6 of Wands – 5 of Pentacles (r) – 7 of Pentacles

Row 2
5 of Wands (r) – 4 of Pentacles – The Wheel (r)

Row 3
10 of Wands – The Devil – 4 of Cups

This reading refers to whoever is responsible for Claudia disappearing and so the cards pertain to them. I’m not getting a bunch of court cards or anything that is suggesting a lot of people were involved. It seems and feels like there is just one main player who is responsible for all this, but that doesn’t mean that didn’t have someone helping. It’s just not clear from all this.

The Six of Wands shows a person who wants public recognition and admiration.

The Five of Pentacles reversed suggests the person may have once experienced hardships pertaining to financial or material matters but overcame them. It can indicate employment or the paying off of debts.

The Seven of Pentacles is showing that the person was experiencing some of the fruits of their labor, so to speak. They might have put some hard work into something, and it appeared to be paying off.

The Five of Wands reversed can indicate the end of a struggle or a conflict. But it can also have another facet where someone is experiencing a lot of pent-up energy, suppressing their temper, and/or acting in a way that seeks to avoid conflict.

This person has some issues with regard to holding on too tightly to possessions, money, and/or people. This card does not necessarily represent someone who has money; it is more a representation of someone who does not want to share whatever it is they have.

The Wheel reversed shows them as having experienced a complete change of luck or fortune. Something threw a wrench into their plans or life, it seems.

The Ten of Wands shows them as feeling overburdened and stressed out – with too many responsibilities and a lack of focus.

The Devil is showing that the issues that came up in the first reading, as indicated by the exact same card, as associated with this person in particular. It’s possible this is someone who had addictions, but there’s definitely an obsessive quality about this person.

The Four of Cups is showing them as refusing or missing out on opportunities, feeling disillusioned, and maybe even living in a fantasy land of sorts. Often the focus of the person represented by this card is either negative or apathetic.

So for a person with no understanding of who might be involved in all this, the above doesn’t tell me enough to identify them. However, that could be a completely different story for someone who does have extensive knowledge and knows of a suspect – or multiple – and can narrow it down.

Merna Kasha

Found deceased: May 28th, 2022
Location: Sydney, Australia

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Merna Kasha was 18-year-old when she disappeared on April 28th of 2022 in Sydney, Australia. A month later, Merna’s body was recovered from a creek.

Question: What circumstances caused Merna’s death?

Row 1
Wheel of Fortune – 9 of Swords – 10 of Swords

Row 2
Ace of Cups (r) – 4 of Wands – The Star (r)

Row 3
2 of Pentacles – 4 of Swords – 7 of Swords (r)

The Wheel of Fortune is showing a massive shift in Merna’s circumstances, luck, and fate. It marks a major turning point that occurred in her life. The shift likely occurred quickly too. There is an implication with this card that the changes are due to external forces and not necessarily caused by the person or people experiencing the situational shift.

The Nine of Swords is showing me that Merna was experiencing a lot of fear and anxiety prior to her death. The level of distress and emotion that is usually tied to this card is significant. It also shows her as being or feeling isolated.

The Ten of Swords is a card of hitting rock bottom or reaching the end of something. It can also signify situations involving betrayal or backstabbing – real or imagined. Merna’s situation had become very dire.

The Ace of Cups reversed could be suggesting that her sadness and upset stemmed from something like a breakup, a miscarriage, the cancelation of some kind of event that was supposed to occur, or something along those general lines.

The Four of Wands is a card that is supposed to represent happy families, celebrations, and success. However, it is situated between the Ace of Cups reversed and the Star reversed – not a great place to be because it can denote desire and wishes, versus how a situation is in reality.

The Star reversed can represent despair, hopelessness, a situation that didn’t turn out as one hoped, a lack of faith that things will get better, etc.

The Two of Pentacles is a card associated with attempts to achieve balance, uncover financial resources, address possible issues in a partnership of some kind, and the experiencing of ups and downs.

The Four of Swords is a card that can come up when a person feels completely overwhelmed emotional and needs solitude or sanctuary. It can depict someone going into a state of self-protection or preservation. It is another card that can show people and circumstances surrounded by anxiety and fear.

The Seven of Swords reversed can have a lot of meanings, but it often relates to keeping secrets, deceiving oneself, ignoring people’s warnings, and getting caught doing something bad.

Question: Who or what caused Merna’s death?

Row 1
Hierophant (r) – Temperance – 2 of Pentacles (r)

Row 2
4 of Pentacles (r) – 6 of Swords – 8 of Cups (r)

Row 3
10 of Pentacles – 9 of Cups (r) – 8 of Wands (r)

As is the case with some readings, we are faced with considering two different scenarios here. The first is that Merna died by her own hand or because of her own actions – even if unintentionally. The second is that this reading is referring specifically to a person who caused her death – on purpose or accidentally.

The Hierophant reversed is someone behaving in a way that is rebellious or unconventional. It could also indicate someone receiving bad advice about something.

Temperance shows that the person responsible was seeking to find balance and middle ground.

But the Two of Pentacles shows that everything was off balance, and it shows someone who was making poor decisions. A lot of times there is a money or material element to the decision-making, but not always. There is also this sense of not having a contingency plan when it seemed that everything (life?) was not going as hoped.

The Four of Pentacles reversed is another card that is suggesting there were financial issues or hardships going on here. It might also depict the person responsible, intentionally or unintentionally, as giving things away or getting rid of people and things in their life.

The Six of Swords is a person seeking calm after a storm or conflict. It can indicate running away from problems or traveling to put distance between a person and whatever issues they are facing.

Something was holding this person back from taking whatever action they needed to take to begin fixing their problems. The Eight of Cups reversed usually represents a person that is having trouble letting go of something or someone. It can be as simple as a person that knows they need to overcome addiction issues but is not doing so successfully. It can also be indicative of a person pretending they are happy and pretending everything is okay, when in reality they are struggling a lot. Such a person likely has a fear of being abandoned and if something were to happen that made them feel that fear was realized, it could cause them to have a breakdown of sorts.

The Ten of Pentacles can go one of two ways. In some cases, it indicates a situation where someone gets a lot of money or items of material value – such as an inheritance. In other cases, it refers to disputes over money. There is often an emphasis on these disputes being related to family in some way, but it can also refer to relationships or marriages.

The Nine of Cups reversed shows that this person’s hopes and dreams were shattered for some reason. Something was going on that was making them miserable. Sometimes addictions and eating disorders are linked to this card in the reversed position. It’s a rough one to get.

The Eight of Wands reversed is a lack of action or occurrence. It can also indicate losing control or acting impulsively – sometimes merely out of panic.

Okay, so if we read them (and remember, this is just a reading and it’s not remotely proof of anything that may or may not have happened) as though they are referring to Merna then we are possibly looking at a situation where someone is behaving in an uncharacteristic or rebellious way (Hierophant reversed), possibly triggered by emotional and/or financial matters related to family (Two of Pentacles reversed; 10 of Pentacles). She struggled with letting something or someone go (Four of Pentacles reversed). She was not successful in accomplishing this (Eight of Cups reversed). She had a conflict over money or material matters – likely involving family (Ten of Pentacles) that could have been new or something older that was brought back to the forefront. Her hopes and dreams were shattered (Nine of Cups reversed). And then we know that something happened to her that ended her life.

If we read them as though someone else caused her death, then we are looking at someone who acted in a way that they normally don’t. The triggers would have been the same as what I described before. The person attempted to rid Merna from their life (Four of Pentacles reversed), or at least tried to and was not successful (Eight of Cups reversed). The person attempted to make peace with Merna and find some kind of middle ground (Temperance) and were seeking some kind of end to the conflict or struggle (Six of Swords). There’s either a new dispute or fight over money or material matters, or an old one is renewed (Ten of Pentacles) and the situation ends in a nightmarish way – with a main person involved who is left struggling with it all (Nine of Cups). The Eight of Wands reversed would likely be this person reacting impulsively and losing control, thus intentionally or unintentionally causing Merna’s death.

How she died would probably clarify the perspective issue and I don’t know the determined cause.

Khayman Welch

Disappearance: 08/12/2020
Location: Toronto National Forest, Arizona – Superstition Mountains

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Khayman Welch was last described as saying he was taking a short walk on August 12th of 2020, in the Superstition Mountains. He was 25-years-old at the time of his disappearance.

Question: What circumstances caused Khayman’s disappearance?

Row 1
Page of Swords (r) – 6 of Wands (r) – Emperor
Card pulled for the Page of Swords (r): 3 of Pentacles (r)

Row 2
6 of Cups – Death (r) – Knight of Wands (r)
Card pulled for the Knight of Wands (r): 6 of Pentacles (r)

Row 3
King of Cups – 7 of Wands – Queen of Wands (r)
Card pulled for the King of Cups: 2 of Cups
Card pulled for the Queen of Wands (r): Magician

The Page of Swords reversed can represent bad news that is usually delivered quickly (in person, text, etc.) and/or a situation where someone is not thinking clearly or is having destructive thoughts. There is a sense of paranoia that can be associated with this card, as well as defensiveness. The Three of Pentacles reversed was pulled in relation to the Page card and it’s showing a situation characterized by poor collaboration – typically in a home or work environment, but not always. The card can point to a lack of motivation, someone who isn’t producing quality work, or someone who is making mistakes and not learning from them.

Since the reading is on Khayman, the Six of Wands reversed almost certainly pertains to him and how he was feeling around the time of his disappearance. It shows a person who feels like they are a failure and who is deeply disappointed. There can be a sense of feeling like a person is being set up to fail or is being targeted in some negative way. But given the first couple of cards, these feelings might not represent what was happening in actuality and might truly more reflect how Khayman was feeling (his thought process).

The Emperor is coming up as a kind of father figure or person who felt protective toward Khayman. This would have been someone who had an air of authority, was practical, and someone who can be counted on to do their part. It is in the upright position and so it isn’t reading like a negative influence or person that was seeking to harm Khayman. It’s more like a person who could see that things were not going well for him and was trying to provide support. That’s the appearance of it, at least, and I’m not seeing other cards that call that into question.

The Six of Cups shows me that the past was influencing Khayman and his situation a lot. He might have been thinking a lot about his childhood or things that happened in his life over the years.

Death reversed is a period of stagnation and can also represent depression. It can come up when a person knows that they need to make changes in their life, but for whatever reason are struggling to do that. This is another card pointing to a person not learning the lessons they are supposed to learn, and it can also suggest an impending inevitable end to something.

The Knight of Wands reversed is the energy of a younger adult male who can come across as rebellious, reckless, overly confident, and lacking in self-discipline at times. It’s also someone prone to making hasty decisions – acting before thinking things out. I don’t know if this is meant to represent Khayman or someone else in the picture at the time he disappeared. However, the Six of Pentacles reversed is showing a power dynamic between at least two people that was not balanced. If the Knight represents Khayman, it is like someone was trying to help him or offering him help that either had strings attached or that Khayman perceived as such. Or it could be an abuse of help or charity, on the part of the person receiving it.

The King of Cups represents an older mature male energy. This is a person who comes across as sympathetic, compassionate, and helpful. The Two of Cups is coming up as a partnership or relationship card where there was a sense of mutual respect and harmony. It can refer to any type of relationship – friendship, romantic, etc.

The Seven of Wands is a card that usually depicts defensiveness. It’s like when a person gets accused of something, or thinks they are being accused of something, and they try to stand up for themselves.

The Queen of Wands reversed is a card that depicts a feminine type of adult female energy – or someone that comes across that way. In it’s reversed position, it’s someone acting in a pushy or demanding way. The Magician is linked to this card and is someone who is very intelligent, skilled at whatever it is they do, and is resourceful. Sometimes it indicates a person with psychic powers or abilities that are somewhat scare or outside of the norm.

The Seven of Wands is situated between the King card and the Queen and so there is a possibility that the defensiveness or feelings associated with that card in particular have to do with one or both of these other people.

Question: Who or what caused Khayman’s disappearance?

Row 1
7 of Swords (r) – The World (r) – King of Swords (r)
Card pulled for the King of Swords (r): Justice

Row 2
6 of Swords – Hierophant (r) – 3 of Cups

Row 3
5 of Wands (r) – Hermit (r) – 3 of Pentacles (r)

When reading the cards, it’s important to consider them from two different perspectives in relation to the question of “who or what.” On one hand, they might all represent Khayman – particularly if he is the primary cause of his own disappearance for reasons intended or unintended. On the other hand, if someone else was involved in his disappearance then they are more likely referring to that person (or people).

The Seven of Swords reversed is showing a person who either got caught doing something they shouldn’t have been doing or were about to. It can refer to someone admitting to something they did as well.

The World reversed depicts a lack of success, feeling like a burden or disappointment, and the potential imposition of an unwanted beginning. So it’s like something specific might have happened that was a catalyst for all this.

The King of Swords reversed is someone who tells self-serving stories, manipulates situations and facts, and can come across as overly opinionated or biased. It’s often someone who comes across with an adult masculine type of energy. Now what is interesting here is that the Justice card is directly connected to this person. This card can come up in reference to lawsuits, karmic justice, and other types of cause-and-effect consequences.

The Six of Swords depicts a calmer situation that typically follows a pretty significant time of conflict or problems. It can refer to someone who is running away from their problems because they are seeking relief from them. In some contexts, it indicates travel.

The Hierophant reversed can represent bad advice that was given, someone who is unconventional and rebellious, and a desire for freedom from conventions.

The Three of Cups is usually a card signifying social gatherings, parties, happy times, etc. I don’t know if there was a belief or perception that normal life expectations or conventions were blocking Khayman from achieving a sense of happiness or what. It could be that Khayman had these supports around him, but he was unable or unwilling to acknowledge them. I’m really not sure with this one.

The Five of Wands reversed is someone who feels like they are fatigued from battle, is ready to try to find a solution or compromise and is seeking a resolution to a conflict.

The Hermit reversed depicts someone who is behaving reclusively, withdrawing from others, feeling as though they have been rejected, and someone who sees themselves as an outsider. This is someone who feels really alone and isolated, for whatever reason. It can sometimes show a person who self-isolates and goes off on their own, which is what we are basically told Khayman did when he walked away from the rest stop area where he and his uncle are said to have parked.

And the reading ends with the Three of Pentacles reversed making its second appearance. Again, this depicts a situation where there is poor collaboration, a person not learning from past mistakes, a lack of determination, and the absence of motivation.

These readings come across as a situation where Khayman was experiencing significant emotional and mental conflict/confusion. I don’t see cards indicating he was physically attacked or murdered. It really reads like his mental state contributed to a situation where he put himself in danger by going off on his own. I don’t know if he planned to disappear for good or not, but his lack of motivation and willingness to put in the hard work – for himself – might have contributed to his ultimate fate. When I say he lacked motivation, I’m not saying he didn’t want his life to get better or anything like that. I’m saying that whatever was going on with him was powerful enough to act as an unwavering obstacle to that. It’s a really sad situation. There was such a sense of palpable despair and disappointment that accompanied both readings.

Michael Kitchener

Disappearance: 10/22/2021
Location: Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Michael Kitchener was 21-years-old when he disappeared. He was last seen on October 22nd of 2021, running on Highway 16, at about 5:30pm.

Question: What circumstances caused Michael’s disappearance?

Row 1
Lovers (r) – Page of Pentacles (r) – Justice
Card pulled for the Page of Pentacles (r): The Star

Row 2
8 of Cups – 3 of Swords – The Fool (r)

Row 3
4 of Pentacles (r) – Death – Strength

The Lovers reversed is the first card of the reading. It’s a card that can indicate a relationship that has gone bad, or is unhealthy, or a poor decision that someone has made. Sometimes it can mean both. It can indicate a need for accountability.

The Page of Pentacles reversed could be bad news that Michael received. The Star, in connection with the Page card, suggests that the news was bad enough to crush a hope or dream that Michael had at the time he received it.

Justice is a consequences card and one that denotes cause and effect. It is almost like whatever happened to kick off this reading with the Lovers reversed set in motion all of the events thereafter, and that they were a result.

The Eight of Cups is about walking away or letting go of something. It’s usually associated with feelings of disappointment, but not always.

The Three of Swords suggests some kind of heartbreak situation that occurred around this time. That could potentially tie in with the Lovers reversed in that a problem in a current (as of the time this all happened) or past relationship contributed to a poor decision.

The Fool reversed is reiterating that one or more poor decisions were made because it is a card of recklessness, impulsivity, and carelessness. It can also depict someone who takes unnecessary risks or is naïve about a situation or problem.

The Four of Pentacles reversed can come up if someone has experienced a financial loss or if they are trying to rid themselves of people or possessions. It can represent generosity, but there’s usually a purpose behind any giving that occurs in reference to this card.

Death is a complicated card because it can mean a major upheaval or transition in a person’s life. It can sometimes mean actual physical death. It can also refer to new beginnings or situations that seem to work out unfavorably but are really a blessing in disguise.

The last card is Strength which refers to drawing upon inner strength, having the courage of a person’s convictions, showing determination, etc. Given that Michael seems to have completely disappeared, I am not even sure what to make of this card and its placement at the end of this reading. The next reading might yield more insight though.

Question: Who or what caused Michael’s disappearance?

Card pulled for the Queen of Wands (r): Death

Row 2
2 of Cups (r) – Queen of Swords – The World
Card pulled for the Queen of Swords: Justice (r)

Row 3
Tower (r) – 10 of Swords – 10 of Wands

Well, before I begin to break this reading down, I want to reiterate that it’s a tarot reading, and it can absolutely be wrong, or I can misinterpret cards. I’m putting that out there because the cards in this reading are concerning and they aren’t especially hopeful.

The first card is depicting a situation where someone felt trapped, victimized, and helpless. The Nine of Swords reversed can be a coping card or a situation where someone tries to accept help.

The Queen of Wands reversed comes across as a female energy, and an adult person. Death – a card that we already saw in the last reading – is back. In this case, the Queen is the primary cause of whatever situation or upheaval the Death card is depicting. Someone with attributes consistent with the Queen of Wands in the reversed position is pushy, demanding, angry, manipulative, spiteful, etc.

The Two of Cups reversed is again pointing to there being some kind of relationship issue or trigger. Most often, it represents unhappy couples or those that are breaking up – or have already done so. It can also be a card pertaining to the loss of a friendship though. Was Michael having arguments with someone in particular? I don’t know how that situation relates to all of this exactly, but the cards seem to imply a link or connection.

The Queen of Swords is appearing as a potentially female adult person who is good with words and makes decisions according to rational thought, versus emotion. Justice was present in the first reading regarding the circumstances surrounding Michael’s disappearance, but this time it comes up in a reversed position in connection with the Queen of Swords card. In the reversed position, it suggests a lack of accountability – like whoever was involved in all this or responsible for it, whether it was intended or an accident or indirect, hasn’t been held responsible. There is a lot of dishonesty surrounding all of this and Justice reversed communicates that as well.

The World shows something that has come full circle. In a good reading, it can mean an outcome was completely successful. However, in the context of a person’s disappearance, it can take on a more ominous meaning in that I have seen it come up in readings where the person was ultimately found deceased. I’m not saying that is the case here, but if the cards are remotely accurate then it’s concerning.

The Tower reversed is like a crisis that is either averted or is looming. If someone other than Michael caused his disappearance then it could be depicting them in this place of limbo – where they haven’t been caught or held accountable, but they know it could be coming.

The Ten of Swords is a card where a person hits rock bottom. It can indicate an emotional or physical attack. It usually involves a betrayal or a sincere belief that one has occurred.

The Ten of Wands is indicating that if Michael did not disappear accidentally or by his own hand, then the person that knows what happened feels like they are carrying the entire burden of the situation. This would feel like a constant and uphill struggle to them.

This is all a really strange situation. It feels like something really bad happened here, but I don’t understand the full nature of it or what specifically caused it. I wish I had something more definitive. Some of this might make a lot more sense if I had any background information on Michael or the circumstances surrounding the time he went missing. I just don’t.

Logan Losurdo was 20 years old when he was last seen on November 26th of 2021. His body was recovered on March 10th of 2022, near Soldier’s Beach, Norah Head. Logan is described as being from Magenta on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Question: What circumstances caused Logan’s death?

Card pulled for the Knight of Pentacles (r): 5 of Wands (r)

Row 3
Ace of Pentacles – 7 of Wands (r) – 2 of Cups (r)

This initial reading on the circumstances surrounding Logan’s disappearance, and subsequent death, shows a lot of different things going on. I’ve talked before about how the readings will touch on all of these people, events, and influences that were around a person when they disappeared or died. While that can shed a lot of light on the situation, it can also create confusion when some of those are not directly related to it all. So it’s important to keep that in mind when going through everything here. And again, it’s just a tarot reading.

The first card is the Queen of Pentacles reversed. When a person is represented by this card in its reversed position, all of the negative attributes are highlighted. Minimally, people depicted by this card are manipulative and have a mean streak. However, some are actual sociopaths and so there is a spectrum there. Such a person could be a motherly figure in that they may have one or more children. The Ace of Wands reversed is showing that there was some kind of bad news that came up with regard to this person. Maybe Logan had some kind of plans that were delayed or derailed by this person. I don’t know. It’s not the only card that has an underlying meaning that could pertain to travel plans.

The next card is the King of Swords. The cards pulled in connection with it include the Queen of Swords reversed, the Page of Pentacles reversed, and the World reversed. The person depicted by the King card has positive attributed. This would be someone who is articulate, has goals, achieves their goals, and is considered an expert in whatever it is they do for work. The card might represent Logan. The Queen of Swords reversed is someone directly connected to the person in the King position. This is a person who is a poor communicator, and it can sometimes represent an absent or neglectful mother. The Page of Pentacles reversed may represent some bad news that Logan received – probably from or about the person in the Queen position. It could have been related to money or living arrangements or anything else that is material in nature. Finally, the World reversed is showing an incomplete situation in which success was not achieved. So I don’t know if Logan had a plan or desire to do something specific, but the means to accomplish it fell through, or if there is some other explanation to all that.

The King of Pentacles reversed is striking me as a father figure who would be – or have been – distinguishable by specific attributes associated with their personality. This is a card with masculine energy. When it represents a person, it is someone who can be greedy, selfish, corrupt, a failure in terms of business endeavors, etc. The Six of Cups was pulled in reference to this person, and it can represent a person’s childhood, childhood memories, family, issues experienced in childhood, and other similar types of themes.

The Knight of Pentacles reversed, when depicting a person, is someone with male energy who is likely younger than the people in the Queen and King positions – or at least, it is someone who is operating at the emotional level of a young adult. This is a person who is irresponsible, unstable, focused on money, and prone to breaking promises. The Five of Wands reversed is the card pulled with the Knight and it is a solution card or one that represents the end of a struggle. It is possible that Logan was having an issue with someone, and it was resolved by some means – or was thought to be resolved – or what this is pointing to specifically.

The Three of Wands is another card that makes me think that Logan might have had some kind of plan to go somewhere or travel. Sometimes, it is a card that just refers to a person who is planning ahead and seeking to live their life to the fullest in terms of going after their goals or enjoying the results of their hard work. But the first two cards suggest that there was some kind of plan that was either canceled or delayed.

The Emperor would be a father figure type of person that was either in Logan’s life at the time, or who he came in contact with around the time that he disappeared (and was later found deceased). Typically, this is a male person who is protective, authoritative, and dependable. Minimally, they come across that way at least, and they are viewed as having some kind of influence or power.

The Ace of Pentacles is suggesting that there might have been some kind of new job opportunity, or a goal or finding a new job, at the time that this all happened. I don’t know what Logan did for work, but perhaps he was thinking of starting his own business? I’m not sure. Maybe that is tied in with whatever other plans he seemed to have, or maybe he just came across a potential job opportunity or chance to make money.

The Seven of Wands reversed is a card of defeat. It can come up when someone gets completely burned out, gives in to the wishes of others – even if it is to their own detriment, or just surrenders to their circumstances. So I would say that regardless of what actually happened to Logan, and caused his death, he had a lot on his mind at the time and there were a lot of human influences.

The final card is the Two of Cups reversed. This is usually a breakup card or one that can signify a divorce. It is basically a relationship that has gone wrong that a person was emotionally invested in. If the relationship is still going when this card appears, then it points to arguments, conflict, and disharmony within it.

Question: Who or what caused Logan’s death?

Row 1
8 of Cups – Page of Wands – Emperor
Card pulled for the Page of Wands: Hierophant (r)

Row 2
3 of Swords – 9 of Cups – 6 of Cups

Row 3
Temperance – 3 of Cups (r) – 2 of Pentacles

The Eight of Cups signifies a person who reaches their limit with something or someone and realizes that they should walk away. That doesn’t mean they actually do it, but it’s a card showing that a person has come to the point where they know something, or someone, is no longer serving them in a positive way (if they ever were in the first place).

The Page of Wands may indicate a young person – such as a child – or a message. It is typically a positive card. But what is odd is that the card pulled in connection with it is the Hierophant reversed. Was there a breakup of a relationship, or a divorce, which involved a child? I can’t really make sense of this combination, but it feels like there is possibly a child connected to a bad relationship or a relationship that didn’t work out. However, Logan was only 20 years old so I’m not sure what to do with those cards because I have no background information on him.

The Emperor appeared in this reading again. It has the same meaning as before. There was some kind of older, probably male, influence that was in Logan’s life – or came into it right around the time of his disappearance and death – that plays a role in all this. Not in that they did anything wrong; just that they have come up twice and so their existence or actions are important somehow to this whole story.

The Three of Swords is a heartbreak card. There are so many cards in this reading that are pointing to emotional distress over relationships. I do think that there is or was a romantic type of relationship influence in all of this because of the last card in the first reading, and this card that goes a step further and almost suggests a kind of betrayal or deception. Now this could simply be something that was on his mind and contributed to his emotional state when all this happened. It doesn’t mean that a partner, or a former partner, was responsible for his death. For instance, in a suicide (I am just using this as an example; I don’t know what the cause of death was for Logan), there are factors that impact how a person is feeling at a given time and they can either help or hinder a person’s mental state.

Nine of Cups is a card of achievement and prosperity. But it’s placement between the Three of Swords and the Six of Cups (that card is back again) suggests to me that those outer cards were blocking what the Nine of Cups had to offer in Logan’s life – or acting as obstacles to it, for lack of a better way of describing it. The Six of Cups makes me think there were unresolved childhood memories or issues that were coloring a lot of Logan’s life and possibly holding him back in some ways.

Temperance is a card of wanting to find peace and balance. It can also apply to relationships – including romantic ones – where a person wants to find solutions or reach a point of calm.

The Three of Cups reversed…Did he have something planned like a wedding or some kind of event that was canceled or broken off? Maybe a celebration of some kind? It can point to issues such as cheating and miscarriages too.

The Two of Pentacles is about trying to find balance and trying to juggle a lot of different matters in one’s life – typically financial or material in nature.

So this reading does not present a specific person in terms of pointing to them as a singular and direct influence. It also ends with an air of uncertainty – as though there were these efforts and actions to find balance and fix problems in Logan’s life, but then he was found deceased. I don’t have enough information to decipher if his death was intentional on anyone’s part – including his own. I simply can’t tell. I can only say he had a lot more going on than people on the outside, who didn’t really know him well, would have imagined. I don’t think he had the easiest life.

Paul Hunsinger

Date of death: 10/29/2018
Location: Pennsylvania

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims or facts with regard to any person or situation. I only present the possible meanings associated with the cards, as well as intuitions and impressions that I get during the reading. All readings are suppositional and should be treated as such.

Paul M. Hunsinger was found deceased on October 29th of 2018. I don’t know the circumstances surrounding his death.

Question: What circumstances caused Paul’s death?

Row 1
Queen of Cups – Page of Cups – King of Pentacles (r)
Card pulled for the Queen of Cups: Tower
Card pulled for the Page of Cups: Page of Swords (r)
Card pulled for the Page of Swords (r): 6 of Cups (r)
Card pulled for the King of Pentacles (r): 7 of Cups

Row 2
Moon (r) – Queen of Pentacles – The World (r)
Card pulled for the Queen of Pentacles: The Devil (r)

Row 3
Hierophant (r) – Judgement (r) – Hanged Man (r)

There is a lot going on here. What is going to be somewhat difficult is determining what people, influences, and events truly pertain directly to Paul’s death. Keep in mind that it is possible for all of these surrounding influences and energies to present in a reading – even in cases where a death is not clear cut, is accidental, etc. I haven’t gotten to the who or what part of Paul’s death yet and so I don’t have a strong feel for that aspect yet.

The Queen of Cups is a female energy that was in Paul’s life. It’s not presenting as a negative influence necessarily, but the Tower tells me that there was some kind of shocking revelation or event that occurred to or because of this person. Whatever that was seems to be coloring the reading as a whole. The Queen card is a person who can be emotional and sensitive – for better or worse. It is usually someone highly intuitive and who is more likely to act on emotion.

The Page of Cups could be a message, or a person related to some kind of positive situation or event. It could have to do with a marriage, pregnancy, relationship, etc. But the Page of Swords reversed, pulled in reference to the Page of Cups, is showing there was some kind of bad news about whatever the first card represented. The Six of Cups reversed was pulled in connection with these cards as well. It usually points to issues relating to a person’s childhood – issues that have come to the forefront or that a person is trying to address. Sometimes it just represents someone who is stuck in the past though, for whatever reason.

The King of Pentacles reversed is coming across as a negative influence or person. If it’s a person, it is probably an adult male. This is a person who has experienced a lot of failure, might potentially be corrupt, is cold on an emotional level, and focuses too much on money or material things. It can also point to someone who is unfaithful in a relationship.

The Seven of Cups was pulled in connection with the King card, and this shows someone that might be reluctant to face reality. It can show a situation where there are many different options available, but the person responsible for choosing one of those options is not necessarily seeing everything clearly or as it is in reality.

The Moon reversed represents the unveiling of secrets and so I think, when you consider the first two cards, it is possible that Paul found out the truth about something. The Moon can sometimes indicate infidelity and so that is a possibility, though the nature of whatever was revealed is not clear at this time.

The Queen of Pentacles is a female type of energy, or a person, which is generally business minded or has the ability to provide for themselves. When this card represents a person, it is usually someone with a lot of positive attributes. But the Devil reversed – which is the card connected to this one – suggests there was some kind of situation going on with this person. I don’t know if they overcame an addiction, were trying to overcome an addiction, or what that card might represent. It can be a card of freedom and revelation as well.

The World reversed is signifying a situation where there is a lack of success and/or a lack of completion. It can indicate something disappointing or a burden that someone is dealing with.

The Heirophant reversed could represent a troubled marriage, a divorce, or someone who is rebellious and unconventional. Judgement reversed is a person that doesn’t learn from their mistakes or past, can be malicious, places blame on others unfairly, and has a lot of regrets.

The reading ends with the Hanged Man reversed. This card is a difficult one to interpret here. It comes up in a lot of different situations, such as ones where a person is having health issues or ones where someone is extremely psychologically distressed. Sometimes it represents suicide, but there are too many meanings associated with this card to event speculate on this aspect. Hopefully the second reading will shed more light on these matters.

Question: Who or what caused Paul’s death?

Row 1
Chariot – 10 of Swords (r) – 8 of Cups (r)

Row 2
Knight of Swords (r) – Page of Cups – Temperance
Card pulled for the Knight of Swords (r): Hierophant (r)
Card pulled for the Page of Cups: 6 of Pentacles (r)

Row 3
10 of Cups (r) – 6 of Wands (r) – 8 of Pentacles (r)

There are going to be several different perspectives a person can take when interpreting these cards. The first is to consider that if Paul died due to reasons that were not directly caused by another person, then the cards largely pertain directly to him. The second is that the cards represent someone other than Paul. This reading never makes it clear to me which one is the most likely and so my hope is that something in all of this resonates with someone who knew Paul and his circumstances because it might shed light on the entire situation.

The Chariot is a card that typically indicates movement and travel. It can also be a victory card or one indicating that someone is in the process of overcoming obstacles, or that they already have.

The 10 of Swords reversed is often about rising above problems or people that are creating problems. It’s usually more of a card reflecting what is going on in someone’s thinking or psyche then it is one representing specific events. So it’s making me think that Paul was dealing with difficulties from his past and trying to rise above them.

The Eight of Cups reversed is card that can show someone who is afraid of being abandoned or left behind. It can also be a person who should leave a person or problem behind but can’t quite bring themselves to do it and so they basically accept their situation and try to come to terms with it.

The Knight of Swords reversed usually represents a male person or energy. A lot of times, this is someone who has a hard time communicating with others. Sometimes this is because they have a speech impediment, but other times it is just an overall inability to express themselves properly. People represented by this card often engage in aggressive behavior, may behave like a bully, and could have a criminal record. If they don’t have a criminal record, then it is probably only because they weren’t caught doing whatever they’ve done.

The Hierophant reversed has appeared in both readings and so there is definitely significance to this card. It was pulled in connection with the Knight. It could be indicating there was a failed marriage, poor advice or counsel given, or a situation where someone behaved in a rebellious way.

The Page of Cups can represent a child or a positive message of some kind. Sometimes there is a psychic or intuitive nature to the person or message. It could represent romantic news, a pregnancy, or some other kind of positive news. The card pulled in connection with this one was the Six of Pentacles reversed and that could change the meaning of the Page card a lot. It could indicate that there was some kind of scam going on, an abuse of power, or the giving of gifts with some kind of strings attached.

Temperance is a card where someone is seeking balance and harmony.

The Ten of Cups reversed indicates trouble at home or difficulty in one or more close relationships. If it a card of dysfunction and can indicate a broken home or family situation.

The Six of Wands reversed is someone who wanted positive recognition – potentially to the point of wanting fame or widespread attention – but experienced failure in this regard. It can also indicate a kind of fall from grace for whoever this reading represents.

The Eight of Pentacles reversed is a card that I see when a person is bored with their job or career path or is having a difficult time focusing and doing the kind of quality of work that they are probably capable of doing. It can also represent a workaholic or someone who spends too much time thinking about work or engaging in work activities.

Neither of the readings is giving me a clear answer about what caused Paul’s death. I can’t rule much out. He had a lot going on in his life around the time of his death and that makes it appear like there is something more to all this.
