Summary:

Shannon Gilbert was 24-years-old when she reportedly met up with a man in Oak Beach. She was a sex worker and had gone to meet with a client. While at the man’s house, she called the police and told them that someone was trying to kill her. She eventually ran from the house and disappeared, only to be found deceased in a marsh. She was found in fairly close proximity to the remains of many other women who worked in the same profession.

Question: What happened to cause Shannan’s death?

Reading

Before I got done shuffling, I had the King of Swords reversed pop out on me so I’m going to include it in this reading. This could represent a masculine, mature (adult) type of energy. One of the reasons this card is significant is because it can represent people who work in particular fields – such as lawyers, law enforcement, military, etc. In the reversed position, this would be someone abusing their authority though. A lot of times, people represented by this card are outspoken. They can be articulate, but they use their words to manipulate situations, people, and facts.

That card aside, straight away in the reading we have Strength reversed. This shows Shannan as having been in a vulnerable situation where she felt uncertain and lacked confidence. There is a sense of weakness associated with this card on emotional, physical, and/or mental levels.

The Two of Wands reversed can indicate a lack of planning and a general fear of the unknown. Shannan may have gone into something thinking she was playing it safe and avoiding risk, but the card indicates there were possibly obstacles or issues that she just was not quite picking up on right away.

The Queen of Wands reversed tends to be a card with feminine and adult female energy. I think this card might represent Shannan because when it is combined with the Ten of Swords, it is showing someone who has hit their bottom. The worst has happened to them, is what this card is basically saying. If that’s true, and it does represent Shannan around the time of her death, then it’s showing that she was not in a great place mentally or emotionally. There would have been things going on in her life, and with her, that made her especially vulnerable to a person or people inclined to take advantage. The only real alternative here is that this card represents someone else entirely and they are a direct contributor to the worst happening. It’s like an ending of sorts occurred, and it was not pleasant emotionally and/or physically. It may or may not directly represent her death.

The King of Cups reversed can be someone who comes across as sympathetic and a friend, but that is typically a façade when the card is reversed. It is likely representative of someone who is overly sensitive, emotional, or behaves in a way that is immature considering their age. The Moon, combined with this card, is telling me there was a lot of deception involved in what happened to Shannan. This person probably deceived her and may have somehow lured her to her death. The card can sometimes point to hidden danger or people with bad intentions that are adept at hiding it.

Judgement reversed can have a lot of meanings. My first sense of this card, in the context of this reading, is that it’s showing a situation where someone repeatedly makes poor decisions and continues cycles that are destructive. I also feel like there is this component of being the target of malicious words or gossip. Maybe someone targeted her because they were making judgements about her as a person and her choices. The card indicates an outcome outside of Shannan’s control.

Five of Wands reversed can represent the end or resolution of something. I’ve talked about this card before in terms of it either representing a peaceful end to a conflict or a violent one. Someone perceived there was a conflict or problem, and then it was solved. Whatever that means or entails.

The Eight of Wands reversed is basically showing me that events did not align in Shannan’s favor. She would have felt like everything was working against her and her situation was out of her control. It can represent someone who feels a strong sense of fear or panic. There’s also this feeling of bad timing or being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Six of Pentacles is showing someone in a better position financially and/or materially and offering something to her that probably would have felt generous – something big enough to motivate her to get involved in whatever it was that got her into the situation she ended up in.

Normally, the Four of Wands is a positive card. This reading is far from that and so it more than likely communicates a sense of teamwork or working together. My impression is that there were people and/or forces that all came together to make this happen. She was presented with a situation that looked like it was beneficial, surrounding by at least one person who pretended to be something they weren’t, and something terrible happened.

Question: Who or what caused Shannan’s death?

Reading:

It definitely seems there was more than one person involved in all this. I got the King of Cups reversed and the Queen of Wands reversed again. I got them in the first reading. Now I am not so sure that the Queen of Wands reversed represented Shannan. I think there might be a woman involved in this – possibly someone who helped lure her or convince her the situation was safe – or someone who has the energy of a female. There is a lot of female energy in this reading, and I can’t shake this impression that there is a woman directly linked to all of this. I’ll get into that all more though as I go through the cards.

The Three of Wands is showing me someone who probably did – or does – travel. This is probably someone who feels good about the choices they have made and has experienced success. They felt – or feel – like they worked hard, and it has paid off.

The Six of Swords is suggesting to me that this person feels like they have moved beyond whatever happened with Shannan and those surrounding circumstances. There is a kind of calm-after-the-storm sense to this card and so maybe they came under suspicion at one time, or felt they had some heat on them, but they have moved on from that.

The Nine of Wands reversed is a person that is stubborn and does not learn from past mistakes or situations. They might be prone to paranoia or feeling overwhelmed by situations or problems. There are multiple cards in these readings that suggest there is a lack of learning from the past, but I can’t tell if this is the card’s way of saying that what happened with Shannan is a part of someone’s repetitive mistake cycle or what.

This person comes across – or did – as someone with good intentions. People perceive that this person is safe and friendly. They aren’t. The Empress likely represents a female that was – or still is – involved with this person. I am not getting the sense that this is someone that merely has some suspicions about this person; instead, it feels like they are a direct force in all of this. And the Empress would come across positively as well. Like I always say, it’s just a tarot reading, and it could be completely off. However, if this is even remotely accurate then we are probably looking at two primary players in this and one of them is likely a woman.

What I don’t like about this reading is that cards like the Three of Wands and the Eight of Wands make it seem like the person – or people – have been living a good or decent life in terms of being enjoyable for them. The person or people might feel like the universe supports their endeavors. I don’t know how else to explain that part, but in both readings, there is this impression that there is a feeling of being justified – almost like someone is doing something beneficial. I can’t explain that. I can only say I am compelled to share that.

The Queen of Wands reversed came up before. This time the card appeared with the 9 of Pentacles which is a card that depicts someone successful and probably mature in age (not a teenager or young adult). I think this probably represents the female. It can be someone who has achieved financial and material independence – either on their own or through marriage. They may even come across as elegant to people. Ironically, the Nine of Pentacles reversed can come up when there is prostitution associated with a situation. But in this reading, it is upright.

The Five of Wands shows a lot of conflict and disagreements. There can be a competitive side to this card also. I don’t know if it is denoting what is going on in the person or people’s life or if it is just showing them as being someone that causes conflict. Someone that likes to argue and get their way. Someone who does not shy away from a problem or a fight. Perhaps, right now, they are experiencing significant problems or disruption. I’m not really sure with this one.

The Queen of Pentacles reversed could be someone already mentioned, or it could be another person with knowledge or involvement in what happened to Shannan. Sometimes this card is linked to prostitution. It can be connected to people that are social climbers and use people for material or financial ends.

The Emperor reversed is someone who is – or was – likely in a respectable kind of position or profession. However, it is someone who would have used whatever power and respect they had in harmful ways. Such a person is usually controlling. They can be rigid in their thinking and behavior. Other people may view them as a leader or as someone with notable accomplishments. It can indicate significant corruption as well – either personal or systemic.

There is definitely a sense of something bigger going on with all of this and I think there is at least one person who has been directly involved that might come as a surprise to people. I don’t think that what happened to Shannan was an accident. Based entirely on the readings, I think more than one person is involved – but I’m not sure of their exact role. The person that came up in the first reading – with the King of Swords reversed – is probably out there spreading false information and talking about the case. I just see this person being active in discussions (possibly even online) about the case and intent on shifting blame or victim-shaming even.

There’s a lot of information that we don’t have here – that is available in some way (I don’t know how but I do think it’s out there) – that would shed a lot more light on this if we had it.

Morgan Nick

Disappearance: 06/09/1995
Location: Alma, Arkansas

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

Morgan Nick was 6 years old when she disappeared from a parking lot that was located near the Wofford baseball field. She was last seen catching fireflies with other children before she vanished completely.

Question: Who or what caused Morgan’s disappearance?

Row 1
Devil (reversed) – 7 of Pentacles – 6 of Cups

Row 2
Page of Swords – 2 of Wands – Knight of Wands
Card pulled for the Page of Swords: 8 of Cups (reversed)
Card pulled for the Knight of Wands: 3 of Swords

Row 3
The Sun – 5 of Wands – The Lovers

Reading:

In response to the question regarding who or what caused Morgan’s disappearance, the cards are showing me with energy consistent with an adult male. It was either someone on the younger side or someone who had the mentality of a younger adult. The Devil reversed shows someone who was trying to regain a sense of control over their life. This was likely a person who had a few different things going on in terms of vices and what-not.

The Seven of Pentacles is what is suggesting to me that his mindset might have been that of a younger adult, but in actuality this was likely someone older. This is a card that usually depicts a situation where someone has worked toward something for a while and are waiting to reap the benefits of prior work put in. The card does not always pertain to career or work matters, but it’s telling me this was a person who had accumulated experience by the time they caused Morgan’s disappearance.

The Six of Cups points to a person that might have had some kind of past childhood trauma and/or abuse. It shows me someone who thought a lot about matters dating back to their childhood. They may or may not have shared those details with others, but it is coming up in the reading for a reason – probably as a kind of identifier.

The second row gives me a little more insight into the circumstances surrounding Morgan’s disappearance. First, it doesn’t look like this was a family member or a friend of the family. This is coming across as a stranger. I don’t know if they had any prior interactions with Morgan or her family, but I just want to point out that this is a predatory-type situation where someone looks for victims based on personal preferences regarding age, sex, etc.

The Page of Swords likely represents Morgan. The pages typically represent children, people who behave in ways consistent with a child, or messages. If Morgan was an intelligent child who seems somewhat wise beyond her years, then this card would fit for her. The Eight of Cups reversed is coming up in connection with the Page card. It suggests a person who had concerns about being left behind, or perhaps was not always comfortable being on their own.

The Two of Wands shows travel and movement away from the area. I think he was familiar with the area and region, but he either left because he was worried about being linked to the crime if he stayed or because it wasn’t where he resided. If he did reside there, then he moved immediately or shortly after the abduction. That could be a possible identifier.

The Knight of Wands is the card that likely directly represents the person responsible. He would have come across as warm and friendly. I don’t think he would have been perceived as a threat. At least, not upon first meeting him. This would have been an action-oriented type of person who was always on the lookout for a new adventure or endeavor.

The Three of Swords – in connection with the Knight of Wands – suggests that at the time of Morgan’s disappearance, this person had experienced a pretty significant emotional event, such as a breakup or the loss of someone in their life. I don’t know if this was a trigger for them or if it’s meant to help identify them.

The Sun could refer to a couple of different things. One, it is possible that at some point this person had one or more children. Two, it might point to this person having gotten married or something along those lines. I’m not sure of the exact meaning for this one.

The Five of Wands shows that this person experienced conflict with multiple people. I don’t see his interactions as having been particularly harmonious. I think this was a person was possibly someone who caused or found trouble a lot – almost like they enjoyed it.

The Lovers is a card that either signifies a relationship, a choice, or both. I don’t know how it applies just yet. It could definitely point to their being a sexual component to all of this. If we link this card back to the first one in the reading, then it’s evident that this reading is communicating that this is a sick individual. Their perspective on sex, love, and relationships is not going to align with those of a normal or average person.

Question: What were the circumstances surrounding Morgan’s disappearance?

Row 1
3 of Swords – 2 of Wands – Hierophant (reversed)

Row 2
5 of Swords (reversed) – Empress (reversed) – The Fool (reversed)

Row 3
|Page of Swords – 4 of Swords – The Emperor
Card pulled for the Page of Swords: The Moon (reversed)

Reading

The Three of Swords made an appearance again in this second reading. There was definitely some kind of event that caused emotional/mental upset and likely acted as a trigger for the person responsible. It might have more significance than that since getting the same card, in the same upright position, is a way for the cards to emphasize the importance of it.

The Two of Wands is the same travel card. It also indicates some degree of planning in that this person probably sought out opportunities that he was prepared to seize. This card showed up in the last reading and has extra importance as well. I think it’s trying to communicate that this person was not immediately local to Alma. They may have lived in a town or city nearby, but they had to travel a distance to get from Point A to Point B. However, it feels like they had familiarity with the areas they paroled, so to speak.

The Hierophant reversed is showing someone who goes against the norm and tradition. It can represent someone who breaks the law and/or is unconventional.

The Five of Swords reversed is a card that can represent a resolution to a situation. In some cases, it is a violent one. Sometimes I get this card for people that get caught or found out for something and their arrest or incarceration is the resolution. There are a lot of possibilities with this one.

The Empress reversed could indicate that around the time of Morgan’s disappearance, the person who took her was experiencing family or domestic problems. The Empress reversed often points to trouble at home. It can also indicate financial difficulties. The person involved appears to have been operating under a few different stressors.

The Fool reversed is another card that indicates that this person saw an opportunity with Morgan and took it. He can depict taking unnecessary risks or acting in a way that is careless or reckless. So I think there was inherent risk in what he did – in terms of possibly being seen or identified – but he decided to do it anyway.

The Page of Swords is appearing again. This time it is linked to the Moon reversed. I am taking this as a positive sign because I see the Page as representing Morgan as the child that was taken, and the Moon reversed as an indicator of lies being exposed. All of this time has gone by, but the Moon reversed is pointing to a resolution in terms of answers being forthcoming. It is a card that represents the exposing of lies and the unveiling of secrets.

The Four of Swords is a card of rest or inactivity. In criminal types of cases, it can point to someone who is or has been incarcerated. Or it is referring to someone who – for whatever reason – is not active.

The Emperor may represent a man, or some type of event or structure, which paves the way for the secrets and lies to come out. It could represent someone who is working on this case – who has uncovered answers or is on the brink of doing so. Despite the age of this case, it doesn’t feel like it has been forgotten. There may be work behind the scenes that people don’t know about. I hope so at least. The flip side here is that it suggests that there were times when he was active – meaning that Megan may not have been his first and/or his last.

I want to say that nothing in these readings points to Morgan’s parents as having any involvement. I know that sometimes people look to the parents, but there’s not a single card in either reading that suggests anything like this. It actually reads more like a predatorial type of person who was seeking opportunities and took risks in seizing one or more of them. It would be worthwhile to look for other cases that are similar (victims of with similarities in terms of age, sex, and circumstances).

Hinterkaifeck Murders

Date of murders: March 31st of 1922
Location: Bavarian farmstead in modern-day Waidhofen, Bavaria, Germany

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

The Hinterkaifeck murders are said to have occurred on the night of March 31st of 1922. Six people were murdered inside the home: Andreas Gruber (63 years old), Cazilia Gruber (72 years old), Viktoria Gabriel (35 years old), Cazilia (7 years old), Josef (2 years old), and Maria Baumgartner (44 years old). Four people were found deceased and in the barn. Two were found inside the home. Maria was new to her job as a maid because the prior one had quit – reportedly after hearing strange noises in the attic at night. The murders remain unsolved to this day.

Question: Who murdered the six people living at the farmstead referred to as Hinterkaifeck?

Row 1
Temperance (reversed) – Queen of Wands (reversed) – High Priestess (reversed)
Card pulled for the Queen of Wands (r): King of Cups
Card pulled for the King of Cups: King of Wands
Card pulled for the King of Wands: 6 of Pentacles

Row 2
Queen of Swords – 7 of Wands – 8 of Wands (reversed)
Card pulled for the Queen of Swords: 8 of Pentacles (reversed)

Row 3
9 of Cups (reversed) – 10 of Swords (reversed) – Ace of Swords

Reading 1

Reading:

It seems as though the person/people responsible for the murders had some kind of ongoing situation or conflict with the family. I’m not sure if it was well known, but Temperance reversed came up first which is telling me that this conflict (these issues that a person/s had with one or more members of the family) is at the heart of why it happened, and who did it.

The Queen of Wands reversed is depicting an adult female as being involved or having direct knowledge about the murders. This person is coming up early which tells me they likely knew they were going to happen before they did. There are two adult males associated with the Queen: the King of Cups and the King of Wands. So it’s looking like there were three people somehow involved and/or had inside knowledge about what happened.

The Six of Pentacles is saying that one of these people gave someone in the family something. I don’t know if it was a single item, multiple items, or what. It could have been money or something else. Something was given and there was no known or communicated expectation of the receiving person to reciprocate. For some reason, this process of giving and receiving is important to this case because it’s coming up in the reading. It is probably something that would identify at least one of the people involved.

The High Priestess reversed is associated with secrets and hidden enemies and this all suggests that the murders were not completely random. There may have been one or two people in the background that would not seem to have an obvious motive or issue with anyone in the family. It doesn’t seem like someone came across the farm and just killed everyone for the sake of committing murder. There does appear to have been a plan and more than one person assisted in carrying all of it out – to varying degrees, I would say.

The Queen of Swords, and the Eight of Pentacles reversed, is pointing to a woman involved who appears to have had some kind of financial or material motive. This is likely the same person referenced in the first row. I don’t know why or how she thought she would profit or benefit from the murders, but it’s showing me this. Also, she might have been the ring-leader so to speak because the Queen of Swords is someone who is strategic and plans ahead of time.

The Seven of Wands shows at least one of the people involved as having been on the defensive –like they were blamed or accused of something – possibly after the murders, but not necessarily. It’s like someone was trying to force them to take blame or responsibility for something and they didn’t want to do that. There is also a territorial component to these murders. I do think there’s a good possibility there had been one or more past fights or arguments between one or more of the people responsible and someone (or multiple people) living at the farmstead where the murder occurred. However, I don’t think everyone with knowledge, or that was involved, had a direct negative history with anyone in the family. The High Priestess points to one or more hidden enemies – with secret motives and a secret agenda.

The Eight of Wands shows waiting and delays. There are a couple things I am getting from this. One is that I think one or more hung around the crime scene after the fact. I don’t mean the time between the murders happening and the discovery of them; I am referring to immediately after that when it was clear everyone had been killed. I’m getting this repeating thought of the word “loitering” and so at least one of the people came around – probably to get an idea if they were suspected and possibly to intentionally create delays or setbacks – and it was probably more than once.

Someone involved had a hard time with the murders in that the Nine of Cups reversed is a card of nightmares, self-hate, and misery. I don’t know which person this refers to, but I think the murders took a toll on someone and could have led them down a path of addiction – or exacerbated any already existing vices they might have had. At least one of the people involved, or a person with direct knowledge, did not cope with the aftermath well at all. They were haunted by it – figurately, and perhaps literally. To the point where it would have been noticeable. They could have tried to explain their mental state away and attributed all this to something else entirely, but it would have been known to people around this individual that they were struggling mentally/emotionally.

The Ten of Swords reversed is really interesting because it tells me that at least one of the people responsible came extremely close to getting caught. The whole ordeal almost ended in total ruin and disaster for them. They did something, left something, or said something that tripped them up. I’m not sure why they still got away with the murders. But they did. That is potentially another means of identifying them.

The Ace of Swords is when someone asserts their truth and tells it like it is. One of the people involved did eventually talk about it to someone, or multiple people. What I mean is that they talked to someone who wasn’t involved. They told someone. I have no idea which person did this or who they told. I don’t know why it wasn’t taken seriously – or if it was to some degree, but there just wasn’t evidence to back it up. But there was information shared about what happened that was truthful and accurate. Perhaps people thought they were making it up? I don’t know. They weren’t though. They told someone.

Question: What caused the murders?

Row 1
Death – Ace of Cups – 9 of Wands (reversed)

Row 2
Page of Pentacles – 5 of Pentacles (reversed) – The Star
Card pulled for the Page of Pentacles: 3 of Wands (reversed)

Row 3
King of Swords – 7 of Wands (reversed) – 9 of Pentacles (reversed)
Card pulled for the King of Swords: 6 of Swords (reversed)

Reading 2

Reading:

The first row is suggesting that at least one of the people involved had a motive that pertained to an emotions and/or family-based matter. Death is showing there was some impending and significant change that was going to occur. The Ace of Cups tells me it is related to matters such as pregnancy, emotions, family, and/or situations in their early stages of existence. The Nine of Wands reversed is someone refusing to compromise and someone who is stubborn. This person didn’t want to do something, or back down from something, having to do with the Ace of Cups. It’s almost like they felt the murders would be easier than going about getting their way using other means. I don’t really understand what that is saying here, but this person did not want to deal with some transition or change-related matter that was looming.

The Page of Pentacles, and the Three of Wands reversed, could mean a couple of things. First, the Page could refer to a child or a message. If it is referencing a child, then the Three of Wands reversed is showing them as being an obstacle and a source of frustration. The card can also reference a failed relationship or a relationship that has kind of taken place at a distance. However, if the Page refers to some kind of news or message, then it was likely one pertaining to money or material matters.

The Five of Pentacles reversed shows someone as wanting to improve their financial situation and put an end to some kind of hardship they were enduring. And the Star tells me that the murders accomplished this specific goal – at least for one of the people involved. So I don’t know if someone owed a debt to the family, or one person in the family, or had some kind of financial hardship associated with one or more members but figuring that out would provide some insight here because the murders wiped that slate clean. Successfully.

One of the people involved – most likely one of the adult males – felt they could not get away from the situation any other way. They felt trapped and the situation didn’t seem like it would get better any time soon. The Six of Swords reversed is often a warning of trouble to come and so I think that something must have happened to make this person feel like their situation would become even worse than it already was. It is like they were anticipating that a problem would get worse, and they felt they needed to address it.

The Seven of Wands reversed is a card associated with being weak or timid in a situation. It could be someone who went along with the plan, despite not really wanting to get involved, because they didn’t feel they had any real power. The card could have more meaning than that, but that’s the gist of what it means in that position. It’s basically someone giving up and giving in.

The Nine of Pentacles reversed often refers to lies and theft. There is definitely a money motive here and the weirdest part about it is the appearance of the Star – in the second row. That card is telling me that the person got what they wanted out of this in that the murders fixed the material or money issue. Another factor associated with the Nine of Pentacles is the possibility that someone did, or had considered, marrying for money. That meaning may or may not apply here; it’s just a secondary one I thought about when trying to figure out what this money matter is all about.

So it seems like one or two of the people involved were a lot more invested in carrying out the plan than anyone else involved. There was at least one person who was kind of caught up in the middle of it somehow. I’m not saying they don’t have culpability or anything like that. I’m just thinking back to Temperance reversed – from the first reading – and the possibility of a power imbalance between those involved. The King and Queen of Wands were the aggressors and more action-oriented, while the King of Cups was more go inclined to go along with it all.

Tamla Horsford

Date of death: 11/04/2018
Location: Cummin, GA

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

On November 4th of 2018, Tamla Horsford attended an adult sleepover party. The following morning, she was found face down and deceased in the yard. It was claimed or assumed by some that Tamla accidentally fell to her death. However, many people are highly suspicious of the circumstances surrounding it and so I decided to do some readings to see what might come up.

Question: Who or what caused Tamla Horsford’s death??

Queen of Wands – Page of Wands – 10 of Swords
Card pulled for the Queen of Wands: 7 of Cups (reversed)

Row 2
4 of Cups – Knight of Swords – 3 of Wands (reversed)

Tamla Horsford reading 1

Reading:

Right out of the gate here, the cards are showing me the involvement of an adult woman. I want to remind anyone reading this that these are just tarot card readings. Even in situations where the cards are ultimately correct, there is still a risk that I might interpret or read some of them wrong. People close to the cases, or knowledgeable about them, are more likely to derive the correct meaning in situations where a card can have a few different meanings. That said, I asked who or what caused her death, and the cards are showing me the Queen of Wands.

Ordinarily, the Queen of Wands represents an adult female that is friendly, extroverted, and has a range of other positive attributes. It could potentially describe a male fitting that description, but usually it’s a female when a Queen comes up and represents a person. Due to the fiery nature of the wands, people fitting this description are often hot tempered and they can behave recklessly or impulsively at times. The Queen of Wands is someone who is comfortable with taking charge. The Hierophant reversed was pulled in connection with the Queen of Wands. The Hierophant reversed shows the person in the Queen’s position as behaving in a non-conforming or rebellious manner. It can also be someone going against tradition. Could it possibly represent Tamla herself? Potentially.

The Page of Wands either represents a child or a message. If it represents a message, then it is one that was received quickly (in person, by text, by instant message, etc.) regarding a work, professional, or love matter. It usually depicts good news in its upright position. If a child, this is someone who is intelligent, inquisitive, and extroverted. The Seven of Cups reversed, pulled in reference to the Page, is showing me a situation where someone reacted to something and made a bad decision. It is a card of reality checks, but it can also indicate someone who does not want to face issues in their life.

The Ten of Swords is a card of betrayal and/or backstabbing. It can also be a final-nail-in-the-coffin type of card where something happens that completely sets someone off because they’ve had enough. I get this card a fair amount when I do readings on murders. Am I saying this was a murder? No. But if the cards are accurate, and I’m interpreting them reasonably correctly, then they are indicating this was not a situation where Tamla just fell over a balcony. They are indicating that something happened and there is a minimum of one person who knows exactly what happened. Probably more than one person knows.

The Four of Cups is sometimes a card of regret and/or missed opportunities. Sometimes it is a card that comes up when someone receives one or more offers but refuses to accept any of them. However, it can also be a card of apathy. Remember that when you think about the meanings associated with these cards, they are pertaining to anyone involved in what happened to Tamla because the question is asking the reading to identify any person or people with direct knowledge.

The Knight of Swords is coming across as possibly a younger male who has knowledge or became involved in this situation at some point – whether it was during or after the fact. The Knight of Swords is someone who is strong-minded and communicative. Getting in a fight or argument with a person matching this description is frustrating because they do not like to back down on things they think or believe. They can also behave impulsively and impatiently.

I pulled the Six of Pentacles with the Knight of Swords card which is kind of bizarre because it is suggesting the possibility that someone received a gift or some kind of compensation in a scenario where only one person was giving, and the other was taking. So it’s like there was someone who is depicted as a younger male who gave something to someone – maybe Tamla.

The Three of Wands reversed can be a card where someone returns home after travel or being away. It’s also a card that comes up when someone is unhappy with choices they have made and feels like they are experiencing obstacles or ongoing problems that may interfere with their ability to do some of the things they want to do in life – like they are somewhat held back, essentially.

The Nine of Pentacles tells me that the primary person involved – or the person with direct knowledge – is successful in their own right. Or it’s someone with access to money because their family is successful. I’m not necessarily saying they are rich; just that they don’t appear to be struggling.

The Devil is a concerning card to come up for obvious reasons. The last time I got this one in a reading, if I am remembering correctly, was when I did one about Nichol Kessinger (Watts family murders). The Devil can represent anything from an addition to mental health issues to cheating to obsession. It can even pertain to cruelty, violence, rape, and/or various kinds of assault. It can also represent an influence that causes bad things to happen. I wonder if she was drugged. I try not to speculate too much in situations where doing so might point the finger directly at someone, but it’s just a thought that keeps coming to mind. I have others, but let’s just see how the reading after this one goes before I decide if it makes sense to share them. I’m getting some specific images with this one.

The reading for this person – or for these people – is coming across in the Ace of Wands as one where they were able to go on about their life and pursue new endeavors. It could have a more significant meaning than that, but that is the gist of this card in a general context.

This does not read like an accident. Or rather, the circumstances that lead up to this were not an accident. However, her death might have happened because those circumstances did not play out as the person or people thought they would. There might not have been an intent of death originally, is what I’m trying to say here. But there is culpability.

Question: What circumstances caused the death of Tamla Horsford?

Row 3

Tamla Horsford reading 2

Reading

The Knight of Pentacles, in these types of readings, typically represents a male who is either in their teens or twenties, or someone who was behaving as though they were younger than their age. Under normal circumstances, this person might come across as practical, reliable and/or stubborn. The Sun was pulled in connection with the Knight of Pentacles. The tricky aspect of this reading is that the Sun could represent actual occurrences or conditions in this person’s life at the time this happened, or it could represent how people perceived their life. The Sun is associated with success, vitality, and happy relationships. Sometimes it refers to children or having a child. Sometimes it refers to the child of someone I am reading on. There’s many possibilities here.

The Ten of Cups reversed, however, is showing a dysfunctional home life. If this pertains to the person represented by the Knight card, then the Ten of Cups reversed refers to a home where there is discord and fighting. It may depict a divorce or separation situation, or people on the verge of this.

The Ten of Pentacles reversed is yet another card pointing to possible problems in a person’s marriage, or to a divorce that had recently happened or was imminent. However, it can also point to financial problems and disputes as well. Sometimes it pertains to a person who married only for money.

The Chariot is a card of movement and travel usually. It can sometimes represent a mode of transport, but it can also depict a person’s sense of overcoming obstacles and having a strong drive to do something in particular or accomplish something.

However, the Hermit reversed could indicate someone was rejected or that something happened which left Tamla feeling isolated and left out. I can’t get a clear idea on what might have happened here but there is this feeling as though circumstances shifted.

The Six of Pentacles reversed is a situation that often depicts a person offering someone money or material things, with the expectation that they will receive something in return. It’s typically associated with someone who come across as being generous but does that because they have harmful or nefarious motives.

The Nine of Wands reversed is depicting a scenario where someone became stubborn and refused to back down. It’s also a card that comes up when someone gets into a fight, or experiences some kind of conflict or struggle, and feels like they can’t overcome it. Maybe they got close to doing so but was ultimately unsuccessful. Again, I see some images in my mind related to this but I don’t know if they are accurate.

The Ace of Cups reversed is a card showing a person experiencing sadness or pain. While the upright card shows new beginnings in relationships, romance, or children, the reversed shows problems preventing or delaying those experiences. I can indicate a breakup, a pregnancy issue, a romantic rejection or relationship that did not work out, unrequited love, etc.

The Fool is a card that shows someone deciding to pursue a new beginning, or go on a kind of adventure, without really thinking it all through carefully. It might represent Tamla accepting an invitation to the sleepover or something else entirely.

This was a confusing reading. I think there are underlying relationships and dynamics that contributed to Tamla’s death that are difficult to ascertain through such a general reading.

Question: Was Tamla attacked at the sleepover?

Row 1
Knight of Cups – The Magician – 8 of Cups
Card pulled for the Knight of Cups: 4 of Wands

Row 2
3 of Wands (reversed) – 7 of Swords (reversed) – 2 of Cups

Tamla Horsford reading 3

Reading:

In reference to the question about whether she was attacked, the cards are presenting the Knight of Cups with the Four of Wands. The implication of a court card, as an answer to this question, is that it seems to be communicating that either a male attacked Tamla, or she was attacked over a male. The Four of Wands can represent a celebration, teamwork, or a party. So it’s coming across like it was someone at the sleepover. Unless there is a meaning to that card, in this situation, that I’m not picking up on.

The Magician is someone resourceful and/or has access to resources that can help them when needed. It is usually a positive card in terms of representing someone who is skilled and resourceful in general. However, the potential negative aspect of this card is that it can pertain to people who use those skills/resources to cause harm or cover it up.

The Eight of Cups reversed is a situation or person that someone might have known they should have avoided or walked away from, but for whatever reason they didn’t. Sometimes it is because they no longer can.

The Three of Wands (reversed) came up in the first reading. I don’t know if this is a clue as to the identity of the person (or one of the people) involved or what. It often depicts someone returning home from travels or being away. It is trying to imply that someone who was away from the house returned to it? Sometimes it can represent someone who won’t let go of the past. It can also communicate a general sense of unhappiness with one’s decisions. This card coming up twice, however, seems to imply this is something to focus on with regard to the person involved here.

The Two of Cups is a card of compatibility and connections. Usually it is one that goes both ways, but it can also pertain to an attraction that someone has for another person that they believe in their mind is mutual.

It is interesting that the only male court cards to appear depict a younger male. The Knight is a card that usually (not always though) represents someone who is either a teenager or young adult. There have been no King cards in any of the readings, which really has me scratching my head. How many males were in the house? Were there any people in their teens, or twenties? Realistically, the Knight card can just represent older people who demonstrate immature behaviors or patterns of thought so it’s not a sure thing in terms of identifying a person’s age. I can’t figure this one out, but if even more than half of these readings are correct, it’s my opinion she did not just fall off the balcony accidentally – nor did she do it on her own intentionally.

Disappearance/death: 11/15/2021
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

Ryan Rogers was found deceased on November 15th of 2021. He was fourteen years old. Very little information has been shared regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Question: Who or what caused Ryan Rogers’ death? (This reading was done on November 14th of 2021)

Row 1
10 of Swords (reversed) – High Priestess (reversed) – Page of Swords (reversed)
Card pulled for the Page of Swords (r): 2 of Cups

Row 2
3 of Cups – The Hierophant (reversed) – The Chariot (reversed)

Row 3
Strength – 2 of Wands (reversed) – 8 of Swords (reversed)

Ryan Rogers reading 1

Reading:

The Ten of Swords reversed is a card that often indicates someone has hit rock bottom. Often, it pertains to emotional matters or problems that have built up over time.

The High Priestess reversed warns of people that had a hidden agenda. It can also point to a situation where someone did not trust their intuition – they might have sensed that a situation was dangerous, but maybe did not have enough evidence in their own mind to rationalize listening to that instinct. It’s also a card of secrets or hidden dangers.

The Page of Swords reversed is a card that I often see in situations where someone is acting like a bully or behaving aggressively toward another person. Since the question pertains to who caused Ryan’s death. Often the Pages represent younger people, but they can also represent immature or childish adults. The person depicted is probably known to become verbally abusive. It might also be someone who spreads vicious or malicious gossip. The Two of Cups is hinting at the matter possibly being related to a romantic interest or relationship. I am not really clear on that aspect, but it came up in connection with the Page of Swords reversed so it might indicate a partial or full motive. It could possibly suggest a person that was known to Ryan – at least casually or just pertain to the person. It’s unclear.

If accurate, the Three of Cups might also saying that this person (or these people, because it is not clear how many people were involved or know something about what happened) are possibly in Ryan’s general social circles or social environment. There is a chance it could refer to a specific social event or celebration, but I don’t know anything about Ryan’s life or what happened around the time of his death and so I really can’t be sure. I wouldn’t rule out three people being involved, including Ryan. A perpetrator and someone who either helped, or someone who has information about what happened. It could be as simple as the card saying there is a third person who has critical information. Hard to say for sure.

The Hierophant reversed is a card that shows someone going against traditions or social norms. It can also indicate a person who is judged for their lifestyle or choices. This card can represent people who act in a delinquent or rebellious manner. The question is in relation to who or what caused Ryan’s death and so that tells me it is referring to that individual, not Ryan. In some cases, it points to a situation involving a divorce. I’m hesitant to attach specific meaning to this card here because it’s unclear overall in this reading.

The Chariot reversed is a card representing a lack of control or power. Sometimes it is a revenge card or one that comes up when someone is retaliating against another. There are times when it actually represents a car or vehicle. I believe I read he was riding his bike around the time of his death, but it doesn’t feel like that is what it is communicating here. The lack of control and impulsivity aspect is coming across as being more prominent – in light of the other cards.

Strength shows a situation where someone might have been trying to come across as brave or fearless. Maybe Ryan tried to stand his ground in some type of interaction that went bad.

The Two of Wands reversed appears to pertain to the person or people involved because it indicates a lack of planning and feeling as though a person has limited options. The person has now painted themselves into a corner – through their actions – and they are aware of this. They feel trapped and as though they have limited options. Indeed, they do have limited options.

The Eight of Swords reversed is showing someone who wants to break free of their situation and experience relief from it. It can represent a sense of extreme guilt or shame. So someone involved might be having a kind of emotional breakdown in response to the situation or suffer from mental health issues. If more than one person is involved, then I would look for a person who comes across as having a guilty conscience.

Question: What circumstances caused Ryan Rogers’ death?

Card pulled for the Knight of Pentacles (r): 2 of Swords (reversed)
Card pulled for the Page of Cups (r): 7 of Pentacles (reversed)

Ryan Rogers reading 2

Reading:

The King of Wands reversed is a card that comes up when someone is dealing with someone who acts like a bully or a tyrant. Often it refers to an adult male, but there are always exceptions with the court cards. It is someone who has a volatile temper and acts impulsively. The Empress, in connection with this card, can mean a few different things. First, the card could represent Ryan’s mom and show that the person represented by the King of Wands reversed card is known to her in some way. However, it could have other meanings as well. It’s difficult to interpret in this particular reading. No, I’m not saying she is involved at all. It’s not reading that way. But somehow she might know the person. Again though, the Empress usually points to a motherly figure and that description could also just fit someone the perpetrator knows.

The Eight of Swords shows Ryan as feeling trapped, helpless, and victimized. Sometimes it is a card that signifies emotional distress that causes a person to feel this way, while other times it is more literal. Other times, it is a combination of both. No matter what, it is a card depicting someone experiencing significant stress in a situation. It’s reading as a bullying situation – especially next to the King of Wands reversed. Like a confrontation where someone trying to assert their dominance and behaving in an aggressive and/or intimidating manner.

The Six of Wands reversed comes up when people are not receiving credit for their accomplishments. It can also come up when someone is the subject of negative or unfair talk – such as slander or vicious gossip. This person might seek out attention, but in its reversed positioning there is the possibility they feel they are not getting what they seek (at least as of the time of Ryan’s murder).

The Nine of Wands shows that despite everything going on, Ryan was trying to push ahead and get beyond it. If accurate, he was hurt over the situation and upset by it, but he was also trying to gather strength to overcome it. He was trying to make a last stand, basically, to get out of the situation.

The Hanged Man reversed comes up when someone is stalling for time and reluctant to decide or act on something. Sometimes it is because they are trying to make sure everything is in place before they make their move. Another important aspect of this card is that it points to people who keep making the same mistakes in their life. They don’t learn from them. In some cases, it can even suggest someone who has been involved in one or more crimes before.

The Six of Cups reversed usually means someone is trying to move beyond their past and mature. It’s also a card indicating that someone is trying to resolve past issues they have had. Usually these pertain to childhood issues.

The Fool reversed shows someone taking a risk that might have been reckless or not carefully thought through. It can sometimes represent putting one’s trust in the wrong person as well. But it also fits with the theme here regarding impulsive actions.

Pages in a reading typically represent one of two things: a young person, such as a child or young teenager, or a message. If it was a message, then it indicates a negative one that was received quickly (in person, via text, instant message, email, etc.). However, if it was a person then it would have been someone close to Ryan’s age or someone who acts as though they are. Attributes would have included someone who was impatient, loud, and impulsive. It’s also someone who has a strong sense of self-consciousness and tries to come across as more confident than they are.

The Knight of Pentacles reversed was pulled in connection with the above Page reversed card. If representative of another person involved or who has knowledge about what happened. Maybe they heard or saw something? It could be referring to someone a bit older than anyone who might be coming up in the Page’s position – or at least they come across that way in terms of their maturity level or behavior. Teens or twenties. It’s someone who is disloyal, irresponsible, and probably obsessed with material things – money or material possessions or trying to get them.

The Two of Swords reversed was pulled in relation to both of the above court cards and this indicates that the people’s actions and lies will be exposed. The truth about whoever is involved in this will come out. As I always point out, this is a tarot reading and cannot take the place of facts. However, if accurate, anyone involved will be exposed.

The Page of Cups reversed either refers to negative news of a romantic or emotional nature, or it refers to a person who behaved in a vindictive manner. It didn’t even necessarily have anything to do with Ryan because it might have been what set the person off in general. Someone represented by this card acts out of envy and spite, generally speaking. The Seven of Pentacles reversed is showing someone who does not make great decisions and did not plan well. They were too lazy to put in the work, or acted too impulsively, and this will likely be the reason they get caught – that or because the person in the Page of Wands reversed of Knight of Pentacles reversed position will say what they know.

Question: What else do we need to know about the circumstances surrounding Ryan’s death?

5 of Cups – 7 of Pentacles (reversed) – Knight of Pentacles
Card pulled for the Knight of Pentacles: 3 of Pentacles (reversed)

Ryan Rogers reading 3

Reading:

The Five of Cups shows someone experiencing a significant amount of despair and loss in association with this situation. While that could obviously represent Ryan’s family and loved ones, I feel like it has a different kind of significance here because when I ask a question like the one above, the intention is to try to get information I don’t already have. So with that said, maybe there are multiple people involved – or multiple people with knowledge of what happened – and it is hitting at least one of them hard enough that they might be the key to getting all the answers needed. Or the perpetrator has serious regrets now.

I got the Seven of Pentacles reversed in the last reading also and so it might have more significance than I initially realized. An element to this card is bad business dealings or poor financial management. Ryan was only fourteen years old so I can’t quite understand how this applies to him or his situation. It makes more sense to apply to whoever was involved. In life, they aren’t willing to put the work in to make money. It can also point to delays and/or setbacks. Again, it’s a card where there was not a lot of planning and so I think someone was sloppy enough that there’s going to be evidence. I don’t see this as a situation where anyone involved gets away with it. Too many cards are showing that the truth will come out.

The Knight of Pentacles came up before, but it was previously in a reversed position. Here it is upright. The card in connection with it is the Three of Pentacles reversed. This is a card that comes up when a collaborative or cooperative effort goes wrong or fails to work out. So the implications of this might be that there is at least one other person involved, or it might be suggesting that Ryan had some kind of dealings with one or more other people that caused some kind of major rift. And I’m again going back to that notion of at least two other people being involved and/or having direct knowledge – besides Ryan. An alternate possibility is that there’s evidence. The foundations of their plan, or a lack of a plan, is why the whole thing failed or will fail.

No matter what, I do think that anyone involved will be caught.

Question: Who killed Ryan Rogers? (Reading done on December 1st of 2021)

Row 1
7 of Cups (reversed) – 5 of Cups – 6 of Wands

Row 2
Ace of Cups – King of Wands (reversed) – The Star (reversed)
Card pulled for the King of Wands (r): 2 of Swords

Row 3
Judgement – Strength – 4 of Pentacles

Ryan Rogers reading 4

Reading:

As you can see, I have done a number of readings on this case. Some of the cards that have come up in the others don’t make complete sense to me. I cannot get what happened to him out of my mind, and I keep thinking that one more reading will yield just enough information to get to the bottom of this. If only it worked that way, right?

The Seven of Cups reversed shows that the person involved in this made some bad decisions that led up to Ryan’s death. If the reading is accurate, this was a person who felt trapped by their circumstances. They felt like they didn’t have a lot of options and they were avoiding issues in various aspects of their life. Since this is a recent case, these details are still likely representative of what has been going on with this person.

The Five of Cups came up in the reading before this one. It is a card that depicts mourning and grieving. So is this someone known to Ryan and/or his family that is experiencing a sense of loss as well? Or did something happen that prompted events to unfold as they did? It’s perplexing to say the least.

The Six of Wands shows someone who either seeks praise or recognition, or someone that receives it. It’s possible this is a person who likes to have people’s attention. It might even be someone that people who know them think is a good person or someone who wants that to be perceived as that.

The Ace of Cups is suggesting some type of new beginnings for the person involved in Ryan’s death. Often, the card represents relationships that are based on emotion – such as friendships, romantic relationships, close family, etc. However, it’s suggesting that they entered into such a situation recently. It seems like it’s still fairly new to them. A life change of some kind maybe.

The King of Wands reversed has come up in the past for Ryan. It came up in the second reading I did that pertained to the circumstances surrounding his death. This is a person who loses their temper easily. They are impulsive. They may have a propensity for violence. While that last element seems obvious, given that Ryan was murdered, it’s coming up as a possible means of identifying this individual. The Two of Swords is the card I pulled in connection with them and this is telling me that this person might be in denial about what they have done. They might be unwilling to acknowledge their true culpability. It’s coming across as someone who has kind of paused everything in the midst of the chaos surrounding Ryan’s death – as though they aren’t sure what to do. No options seem really appealing to them right now.

The Star reversed is hinting to me that this person does not feel like the outcome of this situation was a good one. Whatever their intention or goal was, the wake of all this is not what they wanted, and they are probably feeling a sense of hopelessness and despair. What is tricky here is determining if they feel regret over what they did, or if they feel regret because it did not produce the results they hoped to see. I don’t know the answer to that – either way.

Judgement is showing me that this person will ultimately be held responsible for what they did. If they think they will get away with it, this reading says they won’t. This is a card that communicates both short-term and long-term consequences of one’s actions. The word I keep hearing is karma. Karma. Karma. Karma. Unlike Justice that points to legal or ethical types of karma, judgement also points to a spiritual reckoning as well.

Strength came up in the first reading I ever did on Ryan’s death – on November 14th. It can be interpreted several ways. First, it seems that the person responsible got the upper hand in terms of whatever happened between this person and Ryan. Second, it could refer to the need for patience in terms of waiting for this whole situation to play out. It’s a card that recommends a person take a courageous and brave approach to a situation. If it’s referring to the person (or people) responsible, it’s likely telling them to come clean. That’s their best bet here.

The Four of Pentacles is showing someone who is controlling, territorial, can be stingy with money or possessions, and who can behave possessively toward people and/or places. People fitting this description also tend to place a strong emphasis on money or things or wanting to get them. At times, they can be greedy or unwilling to share. There’s a sense of guarding with this card. I don’t know if this hints at a motive, but maybe. Some of this feels very senseless though – as though there won’t be an explanation of a motive that ever feels substantial enough to understand how, or precisely why, this all even came to pass.

I believe this person (or people) will get caught.

Donna Christine O’Banion

Disappearance: 10/23/1985
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

Donna Christine O’Banion disappeared on October 23rd of 1985. She was last seen leaving her job as a server/waiter, at the Southern Comfort on Airline Highway, after her shifted ended at 2am.

Question: Who or what caused the disappearance of Donna Christine O’Banion in October of 1985?

Row 1
Knight of Cups – Death (reversed) – Magician
Card pulled for the Knight of Cups: 3 of Swords

Row 2
High Priestess (reversed) – 6 of Pentacles (reversed) – Ace of Wands (reversed)

Row 3
8 of Wands – 10 of Cups (reversed) – 8 of Pentacles

Donna Christine O’Banion reading 1

Reading:

The Knight of Cups indicates someone who had a romantic interest in Donna. The person would likely have been an adult male (likely someone in their late teens or twenties). The card can represent older people, but if that is the case then it means this man behaved in a manner consistent with a younger adult male (in the 1985 timeframe). The Three of Swords, in connection with this card, shows a breakup or a situation in which he got his heart broken. The Three of Swords is not a mild breakup type of card typically. It’s a breakup that causes at least one person involved considerable pain and anguish – in most cases.

Death reversed is telling me he was unable or unwilling to move on. It is reading as though he was either an ex-boyfriend or ex-husband, or someone she was having a relationship with that was on the verge of ending or had already ended. An alternative is that it was someone who had strong romantic feelings for her that she did not return, but the Death reversed card is showing me a man who cannot move beyond the pain from the breakup or troubled relationship – making me think there was some kind of connection here at one point. The feeling I am getting is there was a connection that the male person was not willing to fully sever – regardless of what Donna might have wanted or needed.

The Magician is conveying that this man was skilled. He is coming across as someone who was (is?) resourceful and intelligent. This would have been a person capable of setting goals and achieving them if he set his mind to it. He may have had a particular trade or had connections that could help him when needed.

The High Priestess reversed is depicting a situation where Donna may have had a bad feeling about this person, and the surrounding circumstances, but she either didn’t listen to her gut instincts or she found herself in a situation where she was unable to act on them. In its reversed position, this card represents secrets and hidden agendas that were probably unknown to Donna – even though she might have had suspicions or concerns based on intuition/gut feelings. I find that sometimes this card comes up when it turns out that someone who went missing confided their concerns about a person or situation to someone they knew, prior to vanishing. If so, this can help to identify the individual.

The Six of Pentacles reversed denotes a dynamic where one person is offering or giving another person something, but there are strings attached. It also represents an imbalance between two or more people in terms of money and/or material things. One person has more than the other and uses that to control or manipulate the other person, essentially. It can depict someone who tries to buy the affections of another person as well.

The Ace of Wands reversed represents a situation where the person’s plans were delayed or canceled – or he received bad news that set him off. I don’t know if this would have been about Donna or another matter.

However, the Eight of Wands shows that events moved fast after that. It can also depict someone who tries to sweep another off their feet, or appeal to them in some way. It can also refer to an infatuation – which seems relevant here if we consider the other cards in the reading thus far. Perhaps he was trying to talk her into getting back together with him or mending the relationship (speculating here).

The Ten of Cups reversed is really hitting home that Donna knew this person. This person was not a stranger to her. It would have either been someone she had been in a relationship with (in the past or at the time of her disappearance), within her circle of friends, related by family, or someone she worked with. It could also be a combination of those factors. The most important things to take away from this card in this reading are that she knew this person, and that it was a tumultuous type of relationship/friendship/connection. It would have been one that caused her distress, and she would have likely mentioned this person to people she felt she could confide in.

The Eight of Pentacles is telling me that this individual was established in their job or career. They might have been skilled at a particular trade or worked in a management position. They could have even been self-employed. The reading is trying to convey enough information to identify this person. She might have worked with him. If not, his job has significance in that he was skilled in it. It feels like it would have been something for which he was known.

Donna Christine O’Banion reading 2

Reading

The Queen of Pentacles reversed, combined with the Lovers reversed, is showing me someone who was likely an adult female at the time of Donna’s disappearance. The attributes associated with this card are not coming across as representing Donna. Instead, it is coming across like there was a woman who was jealous, mean, and manipulative somehow tied into all this. The Lovers reversed is conveying that she was in a relationship that was a complete mess, or she was in the process of exiting one. The Lovers reversed can also indicate making a bad decision – doing something significant enough that it has consequences beyond that one person. Maybe the ex had a girlfriend or wife or other person in their life that felt threatened by Donna? Not sure here.

The Nine of Cups is a positive card in that it shows someone who is generally happy and is good at what they do in life – whether its work, being a friend to others, etc. It also comes up when someone is celebrated for, or is celebrating, achievements or successes. This would likely pertain to something happening with Donna or her immediate sphere of friends/family/coworkers.

The High Priestess reversed came up in the first reading and it is back again for this one. To reiterate, this card can show a person who has good gut instincts and intuitions about matters, but for some reason is not listening to them or acknowledging them in reference to a person or situation. It also represents secrets and agendas that remain hidden. At times, it represents secret enemies or people that wish harm or unhappiness on another – though the target of their ill will is largely unaware of what is happening. And I cannot get rid of this feeling that she told someone about her concerns. Possibly more than one person.

The King of Wands reversed is hot-tempered, impulsive, and can behave in abusive ways – verbally and/or physically. This would be someone who makes empty promises that they never follow through with fulfilling. The Sun is the card I pulled in connection with this person and it’s showing me promises that likely pertained to long-term plans, having a family, and other factors. Did Donna have a child with anyone? It could refer to this person having or wanting a child with Donna as well – or someone that communicated wanting that with her. These factors are coming across as ways to decipher the identity of this person for certain and will make the most sense to people that knew Donna well.

The Page of Wands reversed may represent a message regarding a delay or problem with something. The Queen of Swords is coming up in reference to this card and so it seems most likely to pertain to an adult woman. It could be a mother figure or someone with a motherly nature. The Five of Pentacles reversed, in connection with the Queen of Swords card, is suggesting that this person might have been offering help or friendship to Donna. It is someone who thinks logically and makes decisions rationally, versus relying heavily on emotions. The card is reading as though she was going to help Donna with something, but there was some kind of delay or problem with that process. I can’t quite get a grasp on what this is communicating. It could be as simple as this person was supposed to pick her up from work and wasn’t able to do it for some reason. I’m not saying that it what happened; I’m just using that as an example of what the combination might mean. Also, this person is probably important in terms of knowing some of the circumstances going on at the time in Donna’s life.

The Ten of Pentacles reversed is showing some kind of money problem or situation that was having a negative impact on people involved in all this. It can sometimes represent a divorce that is taking place, a breakup, a disputed inheritance, a lost job, or anything along those lines. It’s another reminder that the person discussed in the first reading was known to Donna and that problems with that person are underlying factors in her disappearance.

The Four of Cups reversed is showing me that Donna had an optimistic nature and look on life. While it appears she had some things going on – in both the readings – she had hope for the future and she is coming across as someone who believed that hard times come and go. She had opportunities at her disposal, and she was proactive and motivated enough to take advantage of them when the time felt right. Her willingness to move forward in life might have bothered anyone in her life who did not want her to completely move on.

The Hierophant reversed can refer to a broken marriage. It can also represent someone going against the rules of society and refusing to conform. Perhaps a combination of the two.

The Fool is showing that Donna was ready to embark on a new direction/adventure in her life. She was trying to leave her past behind. She had hopes for the future and she was not afraid to embrace the unknown. It’s possible that her desire for freedom, as it relates to anyone involved in her disappearance, triggered the other person and acted as a catalyst.

It feels like there are two possible scenarios here. The first is that someone caused her harm and potentially took her life. The second is that she ran from the person and started a new life to hide from them. The problem is that she isn’t coming across as someone who would leave loved ones and friends behind, without any answers, and so that one just does not make sense to me. I cannot tell from the readings whether she is alive or deceased, unfortunately.

Question: What do I need to know about the disappearance of Donna Christine O’Banion?

Four of Wands (reversed) – 5 of Cups – Ace of Swords (reversed)

Donna Christine O’Banion reading 3

Reading

The last three cards are only reinforcing my belief that the person involved (the main one, at least, if there were multiple) was an ex-boyfriend or ex-husband. I can’t say this definitively because this is a tarot reading and even if the cards are accurate, I’m capable of misreading them. But there is such a strong and recurring theme pertaining to this is each of the readings. It is really hard to dismiss it, in my mind. The Five of Cups is a mourning card. It’s again pointing at a painful situation involving a relationship or past relationship in which one or all parties felt a great sense of loss. The Ace of Swords reversed is a card in which one or more people involved have, or had, the answers but they refused to openly talk about them. I can’t get a feel for whether this person would have confided in someone. It’s possible, but I can’t tell here.

Lindsey Baum

Disappearance: June 26, 2009
Location: McCleary, Washington

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. Tarot reading is an art and not a science.

Summary:

Lindsey Baum disappeared on July 26th of 2009. She was only a couple of blocks away from her home when it happened. Her remains were later found in 2018 in a wooded area far from her home. She was only ten years old at the time of her disappearance.

Lindsey Baum reading 1

Reading:

The reading is about the person, or people, responsible for Lindsey’s disappearance and death. Prior to Lindsey’s disappearance, this person – or a primary person involved – is coming across as someone who had experienced some success in their life and had a sense of confidence. They may have been recognized for, or celebrating, achievements or accomplishments.

Death is a card that indicates significant changes. In many cases, the changes are for the better in the long run. However, sometimes they cause disruptions or upheavals that change a person in negative ways. Whatever happened, the person transitioned from one way of life into another.

The Moon reversed suggests that there are truths that will come to light about this person. Their identity, and their deeds, will not remain unknown indefinitely.

The Knight of Pentacles reversed is suggesting this is either a younger male (likely an adult) or someone who acts as though they are in their late teens or twenties – even if they are older than that. While I find that the court cards tend to stick to the gender they represent for the Queen and King cards the most, they can and do sometimes represent the opposite gender. I say this because I cannot completely rule out female involvement here. This would be a person who was, at the time, focused on a lot on material possessions and/or money. They may not have changed much since either. People depicted by this card behave irresponsibly and tend to make promises that they don’t deliver on. They may have gambling or other kinds of vices that impact their financial situation negatively in the long-run.

The Seven of Swords, pulled in connection with the Knight of Pentacles reversed, is a card that shows this person behaving in deceitful and underhanded ways. The card may point to a theft, or series of thefts. In this case, it could be depicting the kidnapping of Lindsey. An important aspect of this card is that it represents someone who is getting away with their behavior because they are good at lying and adept at manipulating those around them.

The Three of Swords is showing someone who went through heartbreak or some kind of grief. So I’m wondering if the death of someone close to this person, or the loss of a relationship they deemed important, was the catalyst for the changes that were conveyed through the Death card. This person experienced notable emotional distress pertaining to a relationship (romantic of familial) relationship.

The Ace of Cups reversed then shows me that this person did not move on from their pain and were not able to get a handle on the issues they were having. This card typically pertains to matters relating to feelings, relationships, or love. It can also sometimes indicate that someone has experienced a miscarriage or pregnancy issues – though that is not always the case when it appears. Those are just some different meanings it can have in this kind of context.

The Page of Swords either represented a person or a message. If it represented a person, it was a child who was intelligent, logical, and inquisitive. If it pertained to a message then it was one that occurred via speaking to someone in person, phone call, text message, internet chat, or some other similar method. If this represents Lindsey, then it is showing she questioned this person and spoke out about him. I don’t know if this is implying that she called him out directly or if it is trying to suggest she knew them ahead of time and had misgivings about the person. People represented by the Page of Swords are intelligent and they typically love to talk and so this would be someone chatty and good with words.

I pulled the Devil reversed as the card connected to the Page of Swords. This is a card that usually shows someone as trying to regain control or freedom over their life. If the Page of Swords represents Lindsey, the implication is that she tried to get away from this person. She tried to get out from under their control.

The Nine of Pentacles usually has positive implications in terms of one’s financial situation. It would have represented someone who had some degree of financial freedom of independence. In readings on past cases, this card has come up in situations where the perpetrator either had their own residence or had access to one where they could have privacy.

The Two of Pentacles reversed is showing me someone who made bad financial decisions and probably became overextended financially. Part of this might tie back to the card that talked about someone who gambles or has some kind of vice that causes them to lose a lot of money. So in the present, I would not expect this person to present as someone who is doing well financially – though in the past it seems that they had a better financial situation. This is also someone who will probably come across as disorganized in general.

Lindsey Baum reading 2

Reading

Two cards that appeared in both readings include the Two of Pentacles reversed and the Ace of Cups reversed. Those cards, and their meaning, is significant. The Two of Pentacles reversed is a person who is either on the verge of a financial crisis or they are experiencing one presently.

The Four of Swords reversed shows a person who might have been quite isolated in the recent and/or distant past but has been coming out of that. However, it also a card that sometimes comes up in this position when it is describing someone who is having a mental health breakdown, or who is feeling extremely burnt out.

The Ace of Cups reversed is a card of pain and sadness. There is a theme to this card that I see sometimes in readings, and I feel more inclined to apply it in this one due to the presence of the Two of Cups reversed. At times, this card refers to unrequited love or relationships that have ended in a way that leaves one person feeling as though they cannot move on. When it pertains to females, it can point to pregnancy issues or infertility.

The Knight of Cups is a person who is younger in age – or behaves similarly to someone who is a young adult – and is a sensitive or emotional type of person. The Sun reversed, pulled in connection with this card, could be pointing to someone who is depressed and pessimistic. However, I have to bring up the topic of pregnancy issues once again since I have seen these arise with the Sun reversed. Sometimes it also refers to adoption or problems adopting. I can’t quite figure out if this situation potentially involves or involved a couple because these themes are so prominent that they are hard to ignore at this point.

The Two of Cups reversed points to a romantic relationship or a connection between two people that went terribly wrong. Maybe if there was a couple involved, they are no longer together for whatever reason because this is a card that comes up when relationships are either in the process of ending or have already concluded. There is often a lot of disruption that comes with this card as well, such as conflict and arguments between the people involved. If that’s true, there is a possibility one might turn on the other. But if there are two people involved, they might not want to talk because of their own culpability.

There’s another possibility that has come to my mind a few times during the readings. This could have been someone known to Lindsey and/or her family because there are so many cards pointing toward heartbreak and pain that pertains to a loss. It feels like the crime was motivated by that loss – as though there could be a retaliation dynamic or something of that nature. I don’t know. That’s just a weird feeling I keep getting here.

The Four of Cups reversed is a card people get when they are reawakening and getting back into the swing of their life again. It usually follows a time period of difficulty or one where a person lacks direction. So if this person hasn’t been particularly social or active in the recent past, that seems to be changing for them – though it’s hard to say what is motivating it.

I want to point something out and it might not be important. In the article that provided me with the date of her disappearance, and the date she was found, it said she was found in a wooded area in Kittitas County. That appears to be several hours away from where Lindsey lived but I don’t know the area so I’m not sure. If it is a distance away, it implies that the person that took her may have known her in some way and might have put her body that far away in the hopes that it would not be found, and/or that if it was found that they would not be an immediate or obvious suspect due to its location. That just stood out to me.

Iwona Wieczorek reading – Dark Angels tarot

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. When/if I say that something happened, in any part of a reading description, I mean that is what I am interpreting from the cards, their positions, and other related factors.

Summary:

Iwona Wieczorek was 19 years old when she went missing on July 16th or 17th of 2010. She had gone to Sopot to attend a party with a friend. She was last captured on CCTV in Gdansk Jelitkow – a location that is described as being about 20 minutes away from her home.

Iwona enjoyed going out with her friends to party and let off steam. On the evening of July 16th, Iwona and her friend Adria were invited to a party that wasn’t too far from where she lived. Both were seen leaving together. They were planning to go to a club with three men. Iwona is said to have felt somewhat uncomfortable with going because she did not really know the men they were going with. However, she agreed to go to a place called the Dream Club.

After several hours, Iwona had some kind of argument or altercation with the people she had gone to the club with. She was described as no longer being interested in remaining at the club and so she left at about 3:35 am. She was caught on video footage walking barefoot down the nightclub strip. She was by herself and holding her high heels.

She seemed to be heading in the direction to go home. However, her phone was dying. She texted her friend and her mother that she was heading home. Iwona expressed to her friend that she was unhappy with having to leave alone. She felt that Adria should have supported her, as her friend, and left with her. Iwona is said to have worked it out with Adria via phone and the two agreed that Iwona would go to Adria’s house to spend the night. Iwona texted her mom to let her know the plan. This is described as one of the final messages she sent.

CCTV footage captured Iwona walking down Seaside Boulevard at 4:12 am. This is the last known footage to have recorded her.

Adria had returned home and said she left her keys outside, but Iwona never showed up to her house. Iwona’s family found it difficult initially to get assistance with finding her. She remains missing to this day.

The Reading:

The Knight of Cups reversed is showing me that Iwona was in a position where someone took notice of her in an unhealthy way. It represents a masculine energy or person who is dishonest, moody, and causes or brings trouble. This can also represent someone who is a narcissist. Most importantly, this person presents themselves as something they are not.

I pulled the Page of Pentacles reversed in relation to the Knight of Cups reversed, along with the Two of Pentacles. So what I’m seeing here is the offering of a choice or an option. The person in the Knight reversed position was not in a good frame of mind, though that may not have been unusual for them. They were the kind of person who wanted to see results without putting in the work. There is an element to them that reads as they were looking for easy money. I don’t know if this is a general description, or if this pertains to their motive on this night/day. The Two of Pentacles element is like an offer of some type. It could be an exchange – a you give me this and I will give you something in return, type of thing.

The Seven of Swords tells me that Iwona felt defensive in response to this person. I would equate it to a gut feeling that something isn’t right. The card presents someone in a position where they are standing their ground, ready to defend themselves or those around them. She would have been concerned about this person and their intentions – ready for a fight, basically.

The Page of Cups reversed tells me that a factor impacting her decision making was that Iwona was in a fragile and emotionally vulnerable state when she encountered this person. Her guard might have been down more than usual. Also, she was probably feeling uneasy about her prospects of getting home. It was early morning, and it was dark. Iwona was attempting to get home by herself, and it is said she had about 6 kilometers to go. That is almost four miles. The Wheel of Fortune was pulled in relation to this card, and it signifies an impending change that is about to occur in the lives of those directly impacted by this situation. It is showing Iwona as a victim of circumstance. Wrong place, wrong time.

The Six of Swords reversed is not a good indicator for Iwana. This is a card that conveys the message: trouble is coming or trouble is here. It can signify a situation where a person is literally or figuratively trapped. The person has no where to run. It can sometimes indicate drowning.

Justice seems to appear in the middle of readings where the cards want to deliver a message to the person or people responsible for whatever has happened. The card reminds that karma is a real concept that no one escapes. The scales of justice always come into balance – one way or the other. This person (or people) might think they are an exception, but this card says they are not. It also suggests that investigators might have more evidence than they realize that points to this person or it will be forthcoming.

The Hanged Man shows that this case is at a point where it seems as though it is in limbo to some degree. Perhaps investigators are unsure of what way to go with the evidence or where to look for new evidence. Some valuable time was initially lost in this investigation, but that does not mean it can’t be solved. The cards are expressing that this period of waiting is a part of the final resolution process. Sometimes it takes time for everything to fall into its right place. The Justice card is telling me that someday, it will.

The cards are not telling me whether Iwona is deceased. The Justice component of the reading worries me because it feels like someone overcame her will and did something that was against the law. Since Iwona has not been found, it suggests a tragic outcome. Iwona was someone who had inner courage and bravery – perhaps more than a lot of people realized or gave her credit for having. She was a compassionate person, and she would hope that others would treat her similarly. Fairness and balance were important to her. She would not have been someone to give in easily to her fate and the cards are suggesting that her will – in this regard – might be the reason there is more evidence than people realize.

The key to solving her case is teamwork. People need to pool their energy and resources for this one. It is important not to give up. There is evidence out there and it will take them down the right path. It just may take a lot more work to uncover than people hoped. The answers are absolutely there. One thing the cards are telling me is there is a need to collaborate and share information. There are different types of people involved in solving her case. They all have pieces to the puzzle. Come together and share them. It will show you what really happened to her.

Finally, the Magician reversed is someone who lies, manipulates, and deceives. It came at the end of the reading and so it suggests to me that there was or is someone involved in her case who – for whatever reason – is not really committed to solving it. I don’t know what the motive is. I don’t even dare speculate. However, this person is an impediment, and they are probably in a high enough position that they can create obstacles for the people who genuinely want to find Iwona. This person creates illusions that point people in the wrong direction. They use their skills and their talents and their position to accomplish this.

One thing to consider is the possibility that somehow, in some way, the person responsible has inserted themselves into the investigation. Maybe they helped search. Maybe they offered misleading information. Something.

The people who want to solve this disappearance must come together to bring forth the answers. I am speaking entirely on intuition here, but I think this was someone that was either completely unknown to her or someone she had known for an extremely short time (i.e. had met that evening/morning). It does not feel like it was someone well known to her.

Ultimately, I have no way to know for sure what happened and I always hope for a positive resolution.

Brandon Swanson – Dark Angels tarot

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. When/if I say that something happened, in any part of a reading description, I mean that is what I am interpreting from the cards, their positions, and other related factors.

Summary:

On May 13th of 2008, Brandon Swanson attended a party to celebrate the end of the spring school semester at the Minnesota West Community and Technical College Canby campus. He was 19 years old. Reportedly he had some alcohol, but based on what I read about this case, it does not sound that he had enough to be extremely impaired. A little after midnight, on the 14th, Brandon was on his way home when he drove his car into a ditch. He had taken back roads (or service roads) instead of the main ones. He reportedly couldn’t get the vehicle out of the ditch, despite there not being much – if any – damage to the car.

Brandon contacted his parents and told them he believed he was near a town called Lynd. His parents headed out to look for Brandon so they could help him get home. However, they searched for him, where he told them he thought he was, to no avail. Brandon and his parents tried flashing their lights to see if they could spot each other but it became increasingly apparent that Brandon must have been mistaken about his location. A later investigation would reveal that he was about 25 miles away from where he thought he was. It appears that he got turned around while driving the back roads and the darkness probably exacerbated that problem.

Brandon eventually grew frustrated with waiting for his parents to find him and so he told them he was going to try to walk to town. He said he could see the lights off in the distance. Brandon walked for almost an hour, while talking to his father on the phone, before he said, “oh shit!” No further words were heard and when his parents hung up and called him back, he never answered his phone again. His father thought he heard something that sounded like Brandon’s shoe slipping when he made his last exclamation.

Brandon’s parents initially found it difficult to get the police to assist them in searching for their son. At first, an officer reportedly told them that it was Brandon’s right, as an adult, to go missing if he chose to do that. Brandon’s parents would eventually go on to lobby for new legislation that would change wording concerning missing children to missing persons so that police would take reports of missing adults more seriously. A problem, back then, pertained to concerns about privacy issues and when it was considered acceptable to investigate cell phone pings to try to track a person’s location.

Brandon remains missing to this day. Though it sounds as though the area where he disappeared has been searched more than once, I don’t know the extent or scope of those searches. At some point, a tracking dog seemed to pick up his scent in the direction of the Yellow Medicine River. The dog jumped into the water and then back out again on the other side. The river was searched, but to my knowledge, no other trace of Brandon or his phone has ever been found.

The Reading:

The first card is the Queen of Swords. This is a card that represents a person or energy that is mature and likely a female. After taking in all of the cards that displayed for this reading, I am seeing the Queen of Swords as representing Brandon’s mother. At the time of his disappearance – specifically, just before it happened and during – he was receiving input and suggestions from his mom. She comes across as someone that can balance the head and the heart so in a situation where she would have been advising Brandon about what to do, she would have come from a place of logic and reasoning. The card’s attributes suggest she would have been trying to gather information and trying to give him instructions on what to do.

The card pulled in relation to the Queen is the Page of Wands reversed. This suggests a younger energy or person. It comes across to me as representing Brandon and his mindset while speaking with his mom. He was getting frustrated over the course of their communications, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he threw one or more tantrums of sorts (not necessarily anything dramatic) because the card represents kind of a younger and less mature energy. In its reversed position it is lacking the positive attributes of the card, such as the ability to generate new ideas, a sense of happiness, etc. Brandon was frustrated and making quick decisions that probably weren’t coming across to his mom as being the best ones in that particular circumstance.

Keep in mind, his frustration appears to link directly to his situation. While reading about Brandon’s disappearance there was mention of him being in contact on an almost constant basis with his parents. They tried to locate him by going where he told them he was, but they were unable to find him. The reason for this ended up being that Brandon was not where he said he was. He was about 25 miles away – in a different direction. However, the reading as a whole does not show an intention to mislead. Instead, the cards are communicating to me that he was genuinely confused about his whereabouts and his frustration was mounting as he became increasingly disoriented. Though Brandon had been drinking alcohol that night, his mindset is not coming across as someone intoxicated. His confusion probably came from being in a dark place, in an area he was not familiar with. I don’t know if he had his glasses with him or not, but if he didn’t then his vision might have been further impaired by this as well.

The Nine of Pentacles reversed gives off the impression that he was lacking in information to complete his journey home. He was missing a piece of the puzzle, which we now know pertained to his location. He became convinced he was in one location, but he was really in another.

Brandon’s frustration eventually turned to a sense of hopelessness and fear that he might not be able to find his way home. The Star reversed shows him as someone that felt at odds with everything at the time. This was not Brandon’s usual mindset, but I would compare his feelings to someone who kind of feels like the forces of the universe are conspiring or working against them – despite all the effort they put into resolving a problem or situation.

The Nine of Cups reversed tells us that Brandon was not in a great place emotionally. The Knight of Wands reversed seems to show the progression of Brandon’s emotional state. He came to a point where he was thinking more clearly since time had gone by and the seriousness of his situation was becoming more apparent to him. He really wasn’t sure what to do and he didn’t even feel as though he had many options.

The Three of Swords, in connection to the Knight card, denotes separation and loss. It is likely this card refers to the point in which his connection to his parents was severed. When he was speaking with his father, his last words were “oh shit!” and then he thought he heard a slipping sound. Intuitively, I am linking this card with an event that cut off his ability to communicate – literally. I can only speculate about what happened, but I don’t see this as the moment that Brandon himself had an accident because I arrange my readings in such a way that they tell me the story of what happened. We are only a little beyond the halfway point. Maybe he dropped his phone into the river and tried to retrieve it. That’s a possibility given that a tracking dog briefly jumped into the river.

Whatever happened probably really jolted him. The cards indicate that he felt alone and afraid. Having the phone connection with his parents was comforting because he hoped he would reach some kind of landmark at some point that would finally give away his location. At this point, even if he reached a landmark, he did not have his parents to relay that information to and he realized it might not help him.

The Page of Cups reversed is an energy or person that is feeling emotionally vulnerable and insecure. Though I can’t be sure, the energy seems to represent Brandon’s regression back into a negative or despondent mindset – something that is understandable given the dire nature of his circumstances. He knew he was in danger, and he didn’t know how to cope with that. He was probably looking for an avenue of escape his immediate circumstances – possibly somewhere to rest and get warm while he waited for the sun to come out.

The Five of Wands reversed was pulled in relation to the Page of Cups reversed. It is somewhat confusing to me because it shows someone who wants to avoid conflict and get away from a situation quickly. I honestly don’t know what to make of this. Did he come across a house or barn or something to hide in, only to be discovered – or close to being discovered? An interesting energy I am picking up on here is an intensified sense of fear. It is almost as if Brandon would have been reluctant to reach out to a stranger for help – even if he knew one was present in the area. He already felt that everything was going against him so there could could have been this additional sense of distrust and paranoia. Also, my intuition is picking up on Brandon also worrying that someone would mistake his intentions. Basically, if this is accurate then it means he thought someone else might think he was an intruder and was trespassing for nefarious reasons. Which suggests the possibility that Brandon reached a point where there was a home, or multiple homes that were spread out.

The Two of Swords is a card that often depicts a person with their back to water. I don’t know if the cards are trying to clue me in on Brandon’s literal location or if they are depicting something he was going through. The Two of Swords is a card where the person depicted is in a situation where they feel they are only presented with difficult choices. It also denotes a sense of not being able to see what is happening (or being in denial) – which could apply figuratively and literally to Brandon. I feel like the imagery in the cards is being used to communicate information about what happened to him and where.

The Eight of Cups reversed is a reading can refer to someone that is choosing to remain in a bad situation. Intuitively, I am seeing Brandon as having chosen a location to wait in because he was tired, cold, and his visibility was extremely limited. He could have been afraid to keep going because he felt like his situation could get worse than it already was. And indeed that was a distinct possibility.

The Knight of Swords reversed is an odd card to suddenly come up toward the end and yet it did. It represents a person or energy that is scattered and devoid of logic. In extreme cases, it depicts behavior or thinking patterns that are aggressive and vicious at times. I don’t know Brandon enough to know if he was ever known to fall into such a mindset when feeling desperate and so I cannot figure out for sure whose energy the card is conveying. You wouldn’t want to run into someone like this under circumstances where they might become defensive or suspicious of your motives. That’s the feeling I get here. The energy does not feel like it is associated with Brandon at all which makes it more confusing.

I pulled the King of Swords reversed as a card associated with the Knight. This particular King card, reversed, does not depict positive energy at all. It’s worse than that associated with the Knight and it reflects a more mature energy/person in terms of age or mentality. Did something happen where Brandon encountered someone (two people even?), and an argument or disagreement ensued that ended badly? I just don’t understand why the reading is showing me this kind of energy right at the story’s apparent conclusion. If he died from the elements, or fell into a well or something like that, I wouldn’t expect to see court cards like this. I am stumped on this. The cards seem to be suggesting that at least two other people came in contact with him, and it was not under good circumstances.

I pulled the Sun as the final card. The Sun is telling me intuitively that someday it will become known where Brandon is located. The sun will shine a light on what happened. However, I don’t know if we will ever find out the whole story. If I were to search for Brandon’s location, I would look for homes that are near water. I remember reading there was a river or something along those lines in the area. Like I said before, I think he may have dropped his phone in the water which could account for him losing the ability to speak with his parents; however, I have no way to know this for certain. It could explain why one or more tracking dogs went into the river and then jumped out but the reading is not especially clear on these points.

I keep thinking back to the Two of Swords reversed and the image portrayed on that card – of a man with his back to water. A kind of weird aside to all of this is that I tried to do this reading with a different deck of cards. I used a deck that does not have much in the way of pictures or images. I wanted to use a deck that I hadn’t used for these readings yet, but I kept getting these visual pictures in my mind of the deck I ultimately used. I already had the other cards out and so I moved forward with trying to do the reading with those. I laid out the cards from the other deck and they made absolutely no sense. I kept picturing the deck that was in my mind before I started the reading, and I finally gave in and used the deck you see in the above picture. At first, I couldn’t figure out why it would even matter which deck I used. But when I saw the two of swords and the image portrayed on that particular card, it struck me that this deck had the potential to provide more information or clues in the way of visuals and symbolism than the other one did. Maybe that’s why I kept seeing it in my mind prior to the reading. In the future, I will be more mindful of these things since it does somehow seem to matter.

So it probably wouldn’t hurt for someone close to this case – with more information than I have -to take a look at the cards and see if anything stands out that I missed. I do feel there are clues there that I am missing or that someone with more knowledge about what happened (and the general area) else might pick up on.

The Sun’s presence at the end of this reading does communicate a conclusion where the truth will become known – or enough of the truth to finally get a better idea of what happened here. I wish that I could say the cards hint at Brandon having survived whatever happened, but I honestly don’t feel that is a likely scenario here.

I want to add something that the cards did not communicate directly, but that came to me many times throughout this reading. Brandon’s mom is coming across to me as someone with strong intuitions. If Brandon were to try to communicate with someone about what happened to him – beyond the grave even – I feel that he would go to her because she is being shown to me (I don’t know how else to even explain this) as someone receptive to those channels. I’m not saying she is psychic (she might be though!); I am just explaining that I see a connection between her and Brandon that was – and is – solid and spiritual in nature. She knows, without actually knowing, things that most people don’t about what happened. No, the family is not involved, and they did not do anything to cause Brandon harm. Everything they have said about trying to help him comes across as true when compared against this reading. They are devastated by what happened and want answers. I hope for their sake that those answers come but it could take a long time. The reading gave no timeframe on this.

I have no way to know what happened for certain. Please do not take any of the information described in the readings as fact until or unless details are proven. I would love to see a positive outcome here.

Asha Degree reading – Traditional Manga deck

Disclaimer: Tarot readings should not be taken as absolute claims that something did or did not happen. I only report the meaning of the cards, their relationships and the meaning in the context of those relationships, as well as intuitions I have based entirely on the cards presented in the reading. When/if I say that something happened, in any part of a reading description, I mean that is what I am interpreting from the cards, their positions, and other related factors.

My background knowledge on this case/situation is limited. A very basic summary, to provide some insight into what is known and not known, is that Asha was 9 years old when she disappeared in February of 2000. It is believed that she disappeared in the early morning hours of February 14th. Multiple people claimed to have seen a little girl matching her description walking along a highway around the time she would have been missing. However, none of the witnesses know what happened to her beyond that and claimed she was completely alone.

One person reportedly tried to stop to offer help but said that it seemed to scare her and she ran into a wooded or tree-lined type of area. At some point, her backpack was found at a construction site off Highway 18 and was wrapped in a plastic bag. The bag was linked to her because it has been reported that it contained her name and phone number. I did not come across concrete information about what else the bag had in it. She has been missing ever since.

The Reading:

I want to take a moment to remind anyone that reads this, I have no way to know what happened for certain. Please do not take any of the information described in the readings as fact until or unless details are proven. These are only tarot readings and my opinions about what the cards might mean.

The Fool reversed puts Asha in the position of potentially taking careless action. Given that she was a child, and nine years old, it is understandable how she could end up in a situation she didn’t realize might become dangerous. The card implies an atmosphere in which a person is easier to take advantage of or feels compelled to do something that is naïve or reckless.

The 9 of Cups is viewed as a positive card upright, but in a reversed position it can point to a negative situation associated with massive disappointment, shattered dreams, and misery. In its position next to the Fool reversed it suggests a direct relationship to Asha and her mindset when all the events unfolded. Things did not go remotely as planned.

The Ace of Swords is a card suggesting a plan of action and clarity on a matter at hand. It is included in the row with the above-described cards and is related. The positioning suggests that Asha had a plan in mind and had given it thought ahead of time. Swords, associated with the element of air (and its prevalence in this reading when compared to other suits), gives the impression of something that was fast-moving. While some planning appears to have played a role, it likely did not become serious or fully take root too far in advance. Most likely, the plan was formulated – at least in Asha’s mind – within a matter of a couple of days or less.

The second row begins with the Knight of Swords in a reversed position. To get further information on court cards, I like to pull an additional card that is positioned over the court card. It then becomes linked to any cards it directly touches (see the image that I took of the cards). The four of cups reversed was the card I pulled in reference to the Knight of Swords reversed.

The Knight of Swords reversed refers to a younger male energy (keep in mind that court cards do not absolutely mean a reference to a person, nor are they restricted to a reference only to people who match their gender or age portrayal on a card). Knight court cards give off an energy that is more mature than that of a Page, but that is more active and less experienced than a Queen or a King. Due to its reversed position, the card represents someone with energy associated with the element of air. Astrological signs linked to swords include Aquarius, Libra, and Gemini. However, the astrological signs associated with a court card are intended to give a picture of the person or energy the cards are conveying and so if they represent an actual person, they could belong to any astrological sign. They would be recognizable more by their traits and patterns of behavior. That is the significance I am placing on them here.

The Knight of Swords reversed – in the context of this reading – is coming across as a person who lacks tact and tends to be forceful or confrontational. The person may not behave this way typically, but that is the energy that is coming up in response to my question about what happened to Asha. If representing a person, I would expect the individual to be someone who was (or still is) inclined to coerce people, was or is controlling within their relationships, and may be or have been abusive verbally and/or physically with people around them. Such a person might appear (to others) to have the positive characteristics associated with the upright position of this card and thus might not typically behave like someone who would be involved in something untoward or nefarious. It depends on whether the reversed positioning characteristics are their norm so to speak.

The Four of Cups reversed tends to have a positive meaning in that it usually marks a time when a person becomes more active or moves beyond a position that once felt stagnant. This card could have a lot of meanings here, ranging from representing someone who was experiencing blocks or delays in their life who found new enthusiasm, direction, or purpose that motivated them to take forward-moving action. But it could also refer to someone who was restricted in their ability to act, due to sickness or imprisonment. The meaning is not clear to me in this reading. Cups are associated with the element of water and often represent the emotional (or lack of it, depending on the card and reading) aspect of something.

In addition to covering the Knight of Swords reversed, the Four of Cups reversed is also covering the King of Pentacles. The King of Pentacles is associated with the element of earth and represents energy consistent with the astrological signs of Taurus, Capricorn, and Virgo. If representing a person, this is someone with a mature energy who is business inclined and typically secure financially. The energy is associated with security and safety. People matching this description may work a variety of jobs and so it is difficult to identify a specific profession. The positioning of the card might provide insight into how the person in the Knight of Swords reversed position may have come to know about Asha. The card seems to indicate a connecting thread of sorts.

The card I pulled in connection with the King of Pentacles was the Death card. In many cases, the Death card has positive meaning in that it can reflect a transformation, the resolution to a situation or problem, or a release from something. But there are instances where Death can represent an actual physical death and I suspect that could be the case here. When I placed this card over part of the King of Pentacles, it also took a position where it covered the Devil reversed. I need to spend more time thinking about this combination because along with other cards, such as Justice reversed and the Sun reversed, it gives the impression of there possibly being a sexual motive behind this. However, I am hesitant to really say that with confidence based on this reading alone. I cannot rule out an accident based on the way these cards display, though they are pointing to something more deliberate and at least somewhat planned. At this time, I cannot figure out the link between the two court cards in the second row. There is an important link there, but it is not clear whether the link pertains to how someone would have known about Asha or gained access to her or if it refers to someone with greater involvement. Questions I have include whether this person is related by blood or marriage to the person represented by the Knight card? Does this person have pertinent information? Or is the link merely the person who made it possible for Asha and the other person to cross paths? Maybe a future reading that focuses more on this aspect would help clarify.

The positioning and placement of figures on the cards suggest that the Knight of Swords was focused on the person depicted in the Fool reversed. Given the nature of my question, I feel confident the person represented in the Fool card is Asha. I want to say that I am not getting any impression from the cards that anyone in her immediate family knows what happened to her. If they know or are acquainted with one or more people that do, my sense is they are unaware of this or at least uncertain if they happen to suspect someone. From an intuitive perspective, it seems there is a connection between whoever was involved and the family. The family likely knows the person involved – possibly through a third person (King of Pentacles?) – but none of this reads as the immediate family (mother, father, and brother) as being involved. A careful examination of a younger person – or a person whose maturity level is on par with that of a teenager or a person in their earlier twenties – that Asha may have come into repeated contact with – could prove helpful.

The last card on the second row is the Devil reversed. This card can lean toward the positive if other cards suggest that someone is letting go of something, gaining freedom from an obsession, addiction, or another similar type of entrapment. In this case, the Devil reversed could refer to the destruction or collapse of whatever plan was in place leading to whatever events unfolded. The position often denotes a sense of freedom, which can be literal freedom or emotional freedom. It gives a sense of being detached from the death card that covers it.

The third row tends to represent the aftermath or outcome of the events. In this case, it refers to the events that occurred in 2000. The Six of Swords reversed indicates a person trying to run from something they have done or a bad situation. The energy suggests a person who feels trapped by a situation. The positioning of the cards shows a desire for mental distance and possibly physical distance as well. This means the person may have moved or put further distance between themselves and the location/s associated with the event shortly after. Did they live in the same area or state? The cards show a strong likelihood of this.

I am reading the Sun reversed as an impression on the part of whoever is involved (and I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of two people being involved in some capacity) that they feel they have gotten away with whatever happened. Something to consider here is that this might cause whoever has direct information on what happened to say more than they should. On an intuitive level, I do feel this person (or people) have communicated with others about what happened. If there is a second person involved, my thought is they might have been brought into the situation to help cover it up or they had some other kind of secondary involvement. The Knight of Swords reversed, if representative of a person, denotes arrogance or a sense of feeling as though enough time has gone by that they are safe.

Justice in the reversed position is often associated with unfair outcomes. I have found, when doing readings on missing people and/or crimes, it tends to suggest that something outside of the law occurred – meaning at least one or more laws were broken during the events surrounding Asha’s disappearance, making it a criminal event in some way. In conjunction with other major arcana cards included in this reading, Justice reversed indicates to me that Asha is deceased. The outcome of the events do not seem to have come out in her favor. However, there is always the possibility of a positive outcome. I don’t believe in giving up on hope without completely convincing evidence proving an outcome is indeed a negative one.

I will do another reading on Asha in the future. I find that if I put time and space in between readings, I can sometimes get a better understanding of what may have happened. I also like to note whether I get similar cards and/or combinations in different readings on the same subject matter.
